After wrapping up Spring Meadows, the next destination for Gustave and Lune is the Flying Waters. In this walkthrough, you'll find a step-by-step guide covering all collectibles, side quests, and everything else you need to fully explore and complete the area.
To the Flying Waters
The journey to the Flying Waters begins on the continent's world map. Look for the giant coral structures in the northeast section of the map from your starting position. Before heading there, though, there are several valuable items worth collecting.

Near your starting point, you'll find a small camp guarded by a Portier, Abbest, and Volester. Defeat these enemies to claim a Colour of Lumina. If you look across the river gap, you will see a huge jar, beside it you can find another Colour of Lumina.

If you follow the path left from where you first spawn, you'll discover the entrance to Abbest Cave. While this area might be challenging at your current level, remember its location for later. Instead of going in there, turn right just outside the cave entrance, you will find a Colour of Lumina between the boxes.

While exploring the world map, you can set up camp. At camp, you can:
- Play Music Records on the gramophone
- Rest and allocate points at the Expedition Flag
- Write in Gustave's Journal
- Chat with your companions to build relationships
When you're ready to continue, interact with the campfire and select "Go to sleep." Then make your way to the giant coral structures and enter the swirling vortex to reach the Flying Waters.
Expedition 68 Wreckage

Right after you enter Flying Waters, you will see a shipwreck in front, which turns out to be from Expedition 68. As you approach, a cutscene will play. After the scene, look for a small pathway to the left, hidden by some seaweed, to find the Pictos - SOS Shell.

Behind the wreck, you'll discover a Paint Cage containing rare items. To unlock it, you need to find and shoot three locks:
- On the tail of the whale statue by the shipwreck
- Turn your head left after shooting the whale statue lock, partially hidden by seaweed
- Turn to your back, and you will find the last lock on the rock wall
Breaking all three locks will open the Paint Cage, granting you a Chroma Elixir Shard and an achievement.

Follow the path behind the Paint Cage, grabbing Chroma x333 along the way. In the next open area, you'll face your first Luster enemy. These enemies have two main attacks:
- A two-hit combo (horizontal slash followed by a jumping slam)
- A dash attack where they charge through your party members three times in quick succession

After defeating the Luster, turn left just before the uphill slope for a Colour of Lumina. Where the path splits, go left first to fight two Lusters. Behind them, you'll find Pictos - Marking Shots.
Returning to the main path, you'll soon encounter Démineur enemies. These foes can summon lightning bolts, dealing significant damage. Target and shoot the mines they carry to trigger area damage against all enemies.

After defeating the first group of Démineurs, go right to find a Chroma Catalyst. Continue along the main path, defeating more enemies. Before entering the cave ahead, turn right for another Chroma Catalyst. Be ready for an ambush by three Démineurs as you collect this item. Next, get into the cave tunnel until you see a hut in the distance.
The Hut / Manor

Before getting into the hut, head to the far left side of the area to find an Expedition Flag: Noco's Hut. Circle around to the back of the hut for Chroma x665.
Approaching the hut triggers a scene that transports you to The Manor. Activate the Expedition Flag: Entry Hall on the left.
Before we go ahead and get into the room for the main story, there are secret areas worth exploring here, so let’s go there first. Climb the stairs and head straight to enter the main dining hall, where you'll find four shell-like handles:

- On the right wall beam as you enter the room
- On the back of a pillar in the back right corner of the room
- On the back left wall, near a painting
- Above a cabinet by a fireplace
Interacting with all four reveals an opening by the fireplace. Inside the hidden room, you will find a Record - Nocturne Pour un Masque de Tristesse.

For the next secret area, go back to the entrance door, and now head up onto the left set of stairs. Turn right and head up, look for a huge painting on the left. Jump through it, yes, just believe and jump, just like Harry Potter. This leads to a room with dog portraits. On the far end of the room, you'll find Shape of Life.
Now, for the main story, head back to the main entrance, and then go to the right set of stairs. Turn left, head up, and follow the hallway. Look for an open door with a blue light shining out. Get in and you will find Maelle there, sitting alone.

When you try to leave through the front door, the Caretaker blocks your path. This fight introduces "jump flair" attacks that must be jumped over rather than blocked or dodged. Successfully jumping allows you to do a team counter-attack.
This battle also serves as a tutorial for Maelle's stance-based combat system:
- Defensive Stance: Reduces damage taken and generates 1 AP with each dodge/parry
- Offensive Stance: Increases damage output but makes Maelle more vulnerable
- Virtuose Stance: Enables much higher damage output
The key to mastering Maelle is understanding how to switch between stances effectively. Each stance change earns her 1 AP, and certain abilities trigger specific stance transitions. After defeating the Caretaker, you'll return to the Flying Waters.
Meeting Noco

Back at Noco's Hut, a scene introduces Noco, a Gestral Merchant who exchanges Chroma for goods. Beat him in a duel to unlock Pictos - Exposing Attack for purchase.
After buying what you need, proceed through the opening Noco created. Watch for a Chroma Catalyst on the right as you move through the passage. In the next area, defeat two Brulers to get Brulerum, a weapon for Maelle.
The lantern-lit tunnel on the left is the main path, but let’s ignore it for now, as this area contains a lot to discover. Turn right just before the tunnel, and you will face a Luster. After defeating it, look for what appears to be a large fallen vase (actually a tunnel entrance).

Before going in, look to your left, you will see a Recoat on top of a small pillar. From here, look for climbing handholds on the stone pillars nearby. Climb to the top of the tallest pillar and use grapple points to reach a ledge with Pictos - Augmented Aim at the end of the platform.
Nevron Side-Quest

After getting the Pictos, jump down and enter the fallen vase/tunnel to find a non-hostile Démineur, your second Nevron side-quest. The Démineur needs a mine.

Look to the right of its location for a series of pillars. Jump across these to reach a ledge with an Intact Mine. Return it to the Démineur to receive Deminerim, a powerful weapon for Lune.

Exit and continue through the lantern-marked tunnel. You'll encounter a Cruler working at an anvil. Defeat it for Gustave Weapon - Cruleram and check behind the anvil for a Chroma Catalyst.
Coral Cave

Continue until you reach Expedition Flag: Coral Cave. As you enter this area, check a small section to the right for Pictos - Staggering Attack. On the main path, look left of the large collection of lanterns for Chroma x333.

Continue along the path, and when a Cruler bursts in from the left, defeat it and check where it came from to find Pictos – Rewarding Mark. Turn back and go left, onto a slope leading upward, with a Luster and Colour of Lumina at the top. Backtrack and jump down the ledge, look behind the coral for Chroma x665.

Now turn left and watch for a glowing cave on the right. Drop down and grapple across the gap to reach a larger cavern. Follow the right pathway to a Paint Cage guarded by three Crulers. Defeat these Crulers first.

To open this Paint Cage, find and destroy three locks:
- Midway up the wall behind the cage
- On a wall right beside the cage
- Mounted on a nearby mine
Opening the cage rewards you with a Revive Tint Shard.

From the Paint Cage, follow the other path to find multiple pillars. Get up onto the pillar and jump your way to the upper ledge. Follow the path to find another Colour of Lumina. Return to the main path and continue until you find Journal - Expedition 68.
Lumièran Streets

At the end of the path, you'll see a giant monster. Turn right and you will see a climbable wall on the right, that’s the main path. Before that, look to the left and go through the wall of seaweed, which will lead you to another climbing wall. Get up there and you will find the third Mime.

Though similar to previous Mime encounters, this one is tougher. Defeating it will reward you with a Colour of Lumina and a short haircut for Maelle, which looks really good on her!
Return to the other climbable wall and head up. On the upper path, note a passage through seaweed on the right (we'll return here for an optional boss). First, continue to find Expedition Flag: Lumièran Streets.
Optional Boss: Bourgeon

From the Expedition Flag, head back down the path to the seaweed passage for an optional boss fight against Bourgeon.
This underwater creature has enormous health and unique abilities, including:
- Consume: Eats one of your characters, removing them from battle until you deal enough damage
- 3-Hit Combo: The Bourgeon slams the ground three times in quick succession using its fists.
- 4-Hit Combo: Starts with a headbutt, followed by three rapid slams using its right fist.
- 5-Hit Combo: Delivers two slams with one arm, then switches to the other arm for three more slams.
- Crushing Combo: A brutal 6-hit sequence: three slams with the right fist, two with the left, and finishes with a powerful headbutt.
- Miasma: Spits green fluid that can inflict the "exhausted" debuff
Bourgeon is weak to lightning damage, so use Lune's Thunderfall and Gustave's Overcharge abilities. Electrical weapons will also help.
Defeating Bourgeon rewards you with Gustave Weapon - Abysseram, Pictos - Augmented Counter, Bourgeon Skin, and a Chroma Catalyst. If it's too challenging now, you can return later.
Lumièran Streets Area
From the Expedition Flag, head down into Lumièran Streets, where you'll see a sunken building. The area has a looped path, a story progression path on the right, and a climbable wall on the far left. Let's explore for loot before continuing the story!

First, follow the path left. When it turns right, defeat the patrolling enemy. After that, climb the slope on the right for a Colour of Lumina. Drop down to fight a Cruler and collect an Energy Tint Shard behind where the Cruler stood before.

From here, turn right again and fight the remaining patrols. From the sunken building at the area's start, get onto it and use the grapple point. Defeat the Bruler, then look to the right for another grapple point to reach a row of building rooftops. Follow this path to find Pictos - Versatile.
Optional Boss: Chromatic Troubadour

Now, get back towards where you came from and head to the climbable wall on the left. Defeat the Cruler at the top and follow the series of grapple points, collecting a Chroma Catalyst on the way to another optional boss, the Chromatic Troubadour.

Note that this boss hits hard! It can kill you with a single combo, so try to learn its moveset first. This boss wields a giant trumpet and has two main attack combos:
- Tricky Shot: A 3-hit combo with a quick trumpet slash, followed by two green orb attacks
- Trumpet Concerto: Three quick trumpet slams that can reduce health to 1HP on the first hit and kill on the second
Focus on breaking the boss with Gustave's Overcharge or Maelle's Fleuret Fury. Fire attacks can apply a burning effect for damage over time.
Victory rewards you with Lune Weapon - Troubadim, 2 Chroma Catalysts, and 5 Colours of Lumina.

Loot Pictos - Energising Break from the back of the arena, then use the grapple point at the top of the hill to return to the main area.
Final Area: Flower Field

From Lumièran Streets, take the right path to find Expedition Flag: Flower Field. Rest and allocate skill points before the upcoming story boss. Proceeding past the flag brings you to a large cavern filled with flowers. After a cutscene, you'll face Goblu.

This large Nevron is protected by two shields that block attacks until hit. He has no obvious weak points and can grow flowers that he consumes to regenerate health. When flowers appear, use free aim to target and destroy their weak spots.
Goblu is vulnerable to lightning damage, so prioritize Lune's Thunderfall and Gustave's Overcharge abilities. Fire attacks can apply a burn effect for additional damage over time.
Goblu's attacks include:
- Jump: Slams the ground three times, damaging your entire party
- Slam: Jumps and performs an overhead slam on one character
- Swinging Combo: 2-hit or 4-hit combinations with arm swings
- Grow/Regenerate Flowers: Creates flowers that can be consumed to heal
After defeating Goblu, you'll receive Shape of Health, Polished Chroma Catalyst, 3 Chroma Catalysts, and a Recoat.
Several cutscenes will play, completing this area. Take the path away from the boss arena and move through the swirling vortex to leave the Flying Waters, and onwards towards the Ancient Sanctuary.
