After the emotional cutscene where Gustave is killed and Verso introduces himself, Act 2 begins with you taking control of the new character, Verso. This walkthrough guides you through the Forgotten Battlefield area, including all collectibles, boss fights, and items you can find in this region.
How to Get to the Forgotten Battlefield
When Act 2 starts, you'll find yourself back at camp as Verso. Head to Expedition Flag 33 to rest. You'll notice Sciel and Maelle sitting by the cliff, but interacting with them only results in "..." dialogue. Go to the campfire, interact with it, and select "go to sleep." This triggers "The Next Morning" cutscene between Maelle and Verso, after which you'll unlock Esquie's swimming ability and appear on a small island on the world map.
To reach the Forgotten Battlefield, mount Esquie by pressing Square and head north. Before entering the main entrance, check among the wrecked ships to its left to find a Colour of Lumina.
Walkthrough
Main Gate
When you enter the Forgotten Battlefield, a cutscene will play showing Maelle wanting to bury Gustave. During their conversation, an enemy approaches, and a battle against Chalier will start right away. This fight is basically an introduction to a new mechanic, "Gradient Attack," which you can defend using the "Gradient Counter" by pressing the R2 Button.
Verso's battle style focuses on perfection, represented by a letter grade on the right side of the screen. He starts at 'D' rank but can work up to an 'S' rank as combat progresses.
After you have defeated Chalier, just follow the main path and make your way through the wrecked ships toward the huge gate in the distance. At the base of the gate, you'll find an Expedition Flag: Main Gate. Right after passing through the gate, you will notice a wooden platform on your right for a Polished Chroma Catalyst.
After collecting the Polished Chroma Catalyst, come back to the main path and follow it till you come to a place that diverts into various paths. When you defeat the Chalier at the forking path, you'll receive the Ramasson weapon for Sciel and the Longer Shell Pictos.
After clearing these enemies, you'll see three paths ahead. All the paths have a lot of collectibles, so let's do them one by one. First, take a left and take an immediate right, and you will see a path leading down. Once you follow that path, it splits into three again, take the first left, and you will find an Energising Start IV. Come back to the intersection and take the middle path this time, and then take a right to get Chroma x3,950. You can skip the right path from the intersection, as it just has an enemy scouting it.
Now, come back to the main intersection and from here take a left, and you will notice that there is another path that goes down. Follow this path, and it will soon split into two paths. Take the left first and keep moving on this path, you will come across a Troubadour, guarding Colour of Lumina, defeat it.
Climb the nearby stairs and defeat the trio of Ramasseurs and a Troubadour. After defeating them, go through the tall windows on the left and break the boxes for a Recoat. Look to the left from the base of the wooden ramp behind where the enemies were to find a Healing Tint Shard. Defeat the Troubadour at the top of the ramp and grab the nearby glowing item for Pictos - Sweet Kill.
After this drop down and go back where the paths initially split, take a right this time, follow the path, and near the dead end, you will find a Colour of Lumina.
Return to the three-way split and take the right path this time. Pass through some rubble to encounter a Chalier along with a Troubadour and Ramasseur. Defeating them rewards you with Lune Weapon - Troubadim (Lv 8). Loot the nearby Chroma x988 after the battle.
Now again, go back to the three-way intersection and go straight this time. Before moving up the slope, check the small lower path to the left for a Revive Tint Shard. Continue up the slope and across a wooden ramp to find an Expedition Flag: Vanguard Point.
Fort Ruins
Before exploring the Vanguard Point area, you can explore another area. Go back down the wooden ramp you just climbed, and you will notice ledges that you can climb. Follow this path to reach another Expedition Flag: Fort Ruins.
After resting at the expedition flag, move through the door and jump to the other side. Defeat the Troubadour at the bottom of the stairs to enter an open area filled with enemies. On the right side, you'll find stairs with a Chalier patrolling the building. As soon as you enter the building, you will notice a small room on the right side. Enter it and find a Colour of Lumina. Now you should head to the section outside, where the Chalier is roaming. Defeat him and proceed to the ledge to find the Energising Death Pictos.
Return to the open area and follow the other path where you'll encounter three Chaliers surrounding a purple loot beam. Defeat them and collect the Colour of Lumina on the ground. Nearby, you'll find stairs going down with a door at the end. Before reaching the door, look for a lever (interact with it by pressing Square) to create a shortcut back to the start of the area. With this area completed, head back to Expedition Flag: Vanguard Point.
Vanguard Point
From the Expedition Flag: Vanguard Point, look to your left, and you will notice a fallen metal column. Use that column to get to the lower area, look for crates that you can break for an Energy Tint Shard. Follow the path and defeat the Ramasseur you encounter.
Continue along this path until you find a fading woman standing at an intersection. She simply says, "You may leave, I have no interest in talking with you." You don't need to interact with her.
Take the right path from this intersection first. Go down the ramp into a deeper trench where you'll see a Chalier patrolling ahead and a Colour of Lumina. Before reaching them, you'll notice a left and right turn. Take the left turn first to collect Journal - Expedition 41. Then go right and use the magic rope to climb up, where you'll find Pictos - Empowering Tint. Jump down to collect 1975 Chroma and prepare for an optional boss fight against the Chromatic Luster.
Boss Fight: Chromatic Luster
The Chromatic Luster is weak to Lightning Element attacks, so use Lune's Lightning skills for maximum damage. Avoid using Fire Elemental attacks as the boss absorbs them and will heal itself. The boss can also consume any Burn status to heal.
Defeating the Chromatic Luster rewards you with the Lusteson weapon for Sciel and the Energising Parry Pictos.
Battlefield
After defeating the Chromatic Luster, head back to the Fading Woman and follow the path behind her, taking a left. Go around to the rear of the rock formation behind the Expedition Flag to find a Colour of Lumina. Now go back to the flag again and take a right and then left immediately, you will see some Chroma in the distance, go and collect it. Now, come to the main area with patrolling Chalier, and in this area, break some crates to find Chroma x1,975. At the rear of the area is a cracked, glowing pedestal for a Petank, which you'll find nearby.
Defeat the Petank to receive x5 Polished Chroma Catalyst, a Recoat, and x5 Colour of Lumina. After completing this optional area, return to the Fading Woman.
Back to Vanguard Point
Follow the path behind the Fading Woman, which splits in two. The left path leads to a dead end that you'll need to visit again later. Head right and then immediately left to find a small side area with a Paint Cage.
The Paint Cage has three locks:
- First lock: Among the crates on the wooden platform next to the cage
- Second lock: Above the trench, looking back in the direction you came from
- Third lock: At the previous split in the dead-end path on the left, hidden by crates
After breaking all three locks, return to the Paint Cage and loot it for a Chroma Elixir.
Continue following the path out of the grassy area where you'll find Journal - Expedition 57. As you enter the area, it will be right in front of you, so it's quite easy to spot it. Enter the ruin behind the Journal to find a magic rope inside. At the top, you'll meet Kasumi, a Gestral Merchant who sells Lune Weapon - Benisim, Pictos - Inverted Affinity, and Maelle Outfit - Obscur (if you defeat him in combat). This is a one-on-one fight where you'll need to choose an expeditioner.
After defeating Kasumi (or choosing not to fight), you have two options: go back to the rope and go down again, or just jump outside from the window and head through the nearby stone archway to find an Expedition Flag: Ancient Bridge. Rest here to heal up before continuing.
Ancient Bridge
When you walk past this flag, a cutscene plays showing Maelle having an emotional breakdown. After the cutscene, you'll face a boss fight against Dualliste.
Boss Fight: Dualliste
Dualliste is weak to Light Element attacks and resistant to Fire and Dark elements. The boss doesn't have a visible weak point, so focus on using Light attacks whenever possible.
After you successfully take down Dualliste, you'll get the Dualiso weapon for Verso and the Combo Attack I Pictos followed by a short cutscene. Once the cutscene ends, follow the path ahead to find ropes - climb the first set of ropes, and before you use the second ropes, you will notice a small hole in the wall, go there to find a Colour of Lumina. After using the second rope, you will come to a platform, use the grapple to go to the other side, and reach the top.
After you reach the top, follow the main path, and on the right side, you will see a Grapple option, instead of going in that direction, keep moving forward, and the path will eventually split into two paths. Take the right path this time, and you will notice Revive Tint Energy Picto on a narrow path to your left. Grab the Revive Tint Energy Picto and come back to the main path and start moving forward. You will eventually come to an area with a tree with red leaves, and a cutscene will show the expedition members burying Gustave's hand. Once the cutscene ends, walk forward to exit the Forgotten Battlefield and return to Camp.

The Forgotten Battlefield is a challenging area that marks a turning point in the story as you take control of Verso. With two boss fights, numerous collectibles, and several hidden areas to explore, this region offers plenty of content. After completing this area, you'll return to Camp before moving on to your next destination.
