Pro Quest Singapore Week 5

Pro Quest Singapore Week 5 has ended the season with a bang. The meta game has shifted drastically between the past weeks, and this season has taken a record three heroes to Living Legend, and with Nationals on the horizon, we can only wonder which hero will go next.

This weekend was happening alongside an unprecedented 3 Battle Hardeneds in Tokyo, Milan, and Hartford. This has been a monumental weekend for competitive Flesh and Blood, and DotGG has all the results for you.

Pro Quest Singapore Week 5

Arcane Seeds

Once again, Florian, Rotwood Harbinger remains on top during Pro Quest Singapore Week 5. The combined plans of stacking Runechants off the back of Scepter of Pain and Channel the Millennium Tree whilst maintaining the defensive stance is too strong for a lot of other decks to handle.

The results for this Pro Quest week came out around the same time as the May 20th Banned and Restricted Update. It's good to know that Florian's total dominance might be hindered going forward, but these past few weeks have shown the world just how strong the Earth Runeblade is.

Demonstrate Devotion

Cindra, Dracai of Retribution has risen up to be the welcome rival to Florian that the metagame knew she could be.

The defensive capabilities of the Earth Runeblade means that Cindra is comfortable playing 9-12 Blues in deck, as well the options of playing either Mask of Momentum to encourage blocks, or Mask of the Pouncing Lynx to find a power turn when it's most needed.

Pro Quest Singapore Week 5 has been a welcome return for both the new Draconic heroes!

Bonds of Attraction

The fall from grace for Nuu, Alluring Desire has been surprising. Despite many versions of Nuu now playing mst019-intimate-inducement-3-part-the-mistveil-booster to ensure they remove the high priority cards from an enemy's deck.

Nuu has always been the better Assassin against other Assassins, which is what has kept Arakni, Marionette and hnt261-mv-arakni-5lp3d-7hru-7h3-cr4x-the-hunted-booster from rising in the ranks.

With her likely ascension to Living Legend during Nationals Season, Nuu's place in the sun may be coming up.

Endear Devotion

Many people talk about the game plan of Fang, Dracai of Blades having two phases. Before he gets 3 Fealty, and after. That's actually a slightly narrow way to think of the Draconic Warrior.

During his interview with Arcane Games and Events, Bryce Platz talked about his experience on Fang having three parts. One with zero Fealty, where you proactively want to Mark your opponent, one where you have 1 or 2; where Marking matters but you have to keep playing Draconic cards. And one where you're on 3+ Fealty, and you can just go absolutely wild with an absurd damage output.

It's this damage output that Nuu and Florian struggle to deal with effectively. I expect to see Fang continue to show up as a strong pick for the Warrior Class, especially with High Seas giving him a potential Expansion Slot card.

Open the Flood Gates

After Battle Hardened Tokyo, Kano, Dracai of Aether deck building innovations continued to really skyrocket. With the inclusion of such oddball cards like Imperial Edict to turn off rival hate, and the moving away from full rainbow copies of Overflow the Aetherwell and Open the Flood Gates, we can expect to see the original Wizard play cards like Aether Flare and Aether Spindle again, to help set up a methodical combo, rather than incinerating Aurora.

Wrap Up

Pro Quest Singapore Week 5 brings us to the end of the Pro Quest season. This battery of tournaments took three heroes to the Living Legend status, and has changed the metagame in drastic ways, all the while leading us into the exciting and changeable tides of the new High Seas metagame.
