Pro Tour London Keynote Wrap Up

Pro Tour London has been on everyone's calendar for many months. Now that the event is started, many are looking ahead to the future of Flesh and Blood.

For those who missed it, and didn't want to listen to the lengthy words of James White, here's a beat for beat run down of all the things discussed in the Pro Tour London Keynote speech.

Opening Statement

James White, creator of Flesh and Blood, welcomed all of his colleagues from Legend Story Studios and the many fans watching the Keynote in person and around the world on the livestream, but wasted no time getting into a laundry list of developments for the players.

World Tour Locations

The first major announcement was the dates and locations for many of the upcoming events in the World Tour.

Battle Hardeneds will be taking place at the following locations on the following dates:

  • Santa Clara, April 18th-20th
  • Minneapolis, May 2nd-4th
  • Tokyo, May 16th-18th
  • Hartford, May 16th-18th
  • Milan, May 16th-18th
  • Houston, June 27th-29th
  • Kuala Lumpur, July 11th-13th
  • Lucerne, August 15th-17th
  • Perth, August 15th-17th
  • Paris, September 26th-28th
  • Sonoma, October 3rd-5th
  • Tacoma, October 31st-November 2nd
  • Rochester, November 7th-9th
  • Edinburgh, November 7th-9th

They also highlighted that there will be more announced in good time! Callings will be happening at the following dates and locations:

  • Bologna, June 13th-15th
  • Auckland, August 8th-10th
  • Kansas City, August 15th-17th
  • Copenhagen, August 22nd-24th
  • Shizuoka, September 26th-28th
  • Hamburg, October 3rd-5th
  • Valencia, November 28th-30th
  • Seattle, December 12th-14th

There will also be a Calling in quarter 4 in Australia.

The World Premier for set 17 will be in Montreal, from September 12th-14th.

The location for the World's Championships is Philadelphia on November 13th-16th.

One key event that James highlighted in his speech is the Calling in Auckland. The city where Legend Story Studios is based, and they've made this event particularly exciting. The players who have purchased the Souvenir's Package will be entered into a chance to take a tour of the LSS office.

Auckland will also be a double Calling. One in the Classic Constructed format, but the limited Calling will be Welcome to Rathe Sealed, then into Welcome to Rathe Alpha Draft. This will take up nearly all of their reserved Alpha print run, the rest of which they will save for the 10th anniversary. They're also hosting an Arcane Rising Alpha Battle Hardened. If the event sells out, then this will be all of the Arcane Rising they have in their vault.

Summertime Skins

One last drip of info about Pro Tour in Singapore has been shown. James talked a lot about how the heroes are having fun in the sun in Singapore. The Souvenir Package has the alternate art versions of win030-cf-victor-goldmane-high-and-mighty-pro-tour-champion-cards-heavy-hitters-promo, hnt054-cindra-dracai-of-retribution-the-hunted-booster, and win031-cf-kassai-of-the-golden-sand-pro-tour-champion-cards-heavy-hitters-promo.

These promos will be exclusive and singular to this event. It makes me wonder and hope that we could get similar styles of card, with heroes getting alternate art treatment, like skins for your mains in other games.

Armory Decks

James' next few points were all about the upcoming releases of various Armory decks!

Armory Deck Maxx Nitro has been on our calendars for a good long while, and when the London Keynote ended, we received the deck list, and the gameplay video against Aurora on the FaBTCG YouTube channel.

We've been told a great deal about how Gravy Bones' Armory deck will have cards exclusive to it, not featured in High Seas packs, such as Sawbones. It's also been shown that there'll be cards with a CC stamp for the Classic Constructed version, but all the other versions will be for just the Blitz version.

After the success that Aurora has been having, despite being the hero that is intended for players to be brought into the game with, has utterly sped run her gathering of Living Legend points, the format needs a beginner friendly hero. James took this opportunity to show off the first Ninja themed Armory deck. Armory Deck Ira is set to release on July 11th.

On top of this, they've announced a series of event exclusive Armory Decks for the Living Legend format. Armory Deck Legends for Prism and Viserai will be available at San Diego Comic Con, then GenCon. There will be other events where Prism and Viserai may be available. The new cards which come in these decks in Cold Foil will be available in Gem Pack 3 in Rainbow Foil.

Mastery Pack Guardian and Smash Palace

The main booster release coming after High Seas is Mastery Pack Guardian, as a way to supplement the Guardian Class and introduce the new, adult Valda. We've seen multiple new cards from the Mastery Pack, which we will cover in a later, spoilers article. With all the additional card draw coming in High Seas, I would hazard a guess that Valda will have a welcome effect to counter the upcoming Pirate heroes, and will slow the format down overall.

Smash Palace has been finally unveiled. Expanding on the fundamentals we've seen in Round the Table, Smash Palace has 7 Guardian Heroes, all intentionally designed for the multiplayer Ultimate Pit Fight format. It ties in directly to Mastery Pack Guardian, and works with the same crack-shuffle-play design that those packs are working on. We will also cover this in more depth in a future article.

High Seas and Treasure Packs

The new booster release is what all us players are excited about.

We've finally found what the circle pointing symbol means, as we've also seen it on some of the Smash Palace Guardians. It does mean tap, similar to Magic the Gathering. It's a common short hand that a lot of FaB players have been doing to denote the once-per-turn ability on a card has been used. James White confirmed that all cards with a tap symbol will untap at the beginning of your end phase, and that Gravy Bones' allies can attack or tap the turn they enter play.

There have been a lot of questions about the contents of the treasure packs, the box toppers from High Seas booster boxes. During his interview with Push the Point Podcast, James has confirmed that High Seas may have the highest estimated value of any box set in the game's history. He wasn't exaggerating.

Due to their reprint policy, certain cards will never be reprinted in Cold Foil to maintain their collector value. However, Cold Foils from the first print runs of Welcome to Rathe, Arcane Rising, and Crucible of War are all in an incredibly small number of High Seas Treasure packs. How you might ask? From James White's personal collection.

Conclusion

The Pro Tour London Keynote has set our expectations for the upcoming second half of the year in Flesh and Blood to the stratosphere. With multiple product releases, multiple events scheduled, and so much more yet to discover, we can expect the rest of 2025 in Flesh and Blood to be truly stellar.
