S Tier

Kuja's Spirit Blade

Its C-ability is unique since it's the first weapon in the game to have a conditional effect depending on the holder's HP. If Sephiroth's HP is above 50%, it debuffs the enemy's physical attack along with magical attack with moderate potency. The potency doesn't reach high levels even at max overboost, so keep that in mind.

Dark Heavens

At level 90, it has a modifier of 440%, at OB6 660%, and at max, 800%. It has good modifiers and is on par with some of the single-target damage weapons in the game. Nothing game-breaking, but good nonetheless.

Its R abilities are quite good, offering physical attack and wind potency bonuses at 24 points and 9 points at level 90. At OB6, it gives 34 and 24 points, respectively, and at max Overboost, 40 and 36 points.

Edged Wings

This is Sephiroth's best weapon, thanks to his stamp costume that increases ice damage by 35%. At max overboost, it deals 800% magical ice damage to a single enemy. It provides 24 points of magic attack and 9 points of ice potency. Its third materia support slot provides an X Sigil damage boost. Overall, it's a really great weapon and worth investing in. It can also be used to boost magic attack on other mage units.

Prototype Crimson Blade

A Tier

This is a good weapon for a fire mage Sephiroth. It does AOE magical fire damage with a nice modifier. It also provides an ATK boost and fire potency boost, both of which are good offensive abilities. You can't go wrong in investing in this weapon. It's also good as a sub-weapon for increasing ATK and fire potency.

CC Alloy Sword

This is a better version of the Prototype Crimson Blade since it gives MATK bonus instead of ATK. It does AOE magical lightning damage, making it perfect for a lightning build for Sephiroth. It also boosts lightning potency.

Shinra Blade: Model I

This weapon does single-target non-elemental damage with a ridiculously high modifier. It increases ATK and ability potency, providing two good offensive abilities. It's usually his second-best secondary weapon, just below an Aonibi at OB6. It's also a good sub-weapon for increasing ATK and ability potency and can be used in a non-elemental magic build as a primary weapon. It's worth investing in for sure.

Northern Lights

This weapon debuffs an enemy's PATK and deals physical non-elemental damage with a 10% crit rate. It also boosts MDEF and fire resist. It's not a bad weapon to bring to a fight against bosses who like to use pyhsical attacks like the Iron Giant. If you don't have another debuffer for your physical damage dealers, you can invest in this.

Nameless

This is a free weapon we can obtain when Sephiroth arrives in the game. It debuffs the enemy's magic defense with moderate potency and also deals a bit of physical non-elemental damage. It provides a 24-point HP boost and a 9-point lightning resistance. It's worth investing in if you have nothing better to equip him with. It can also serve as an HP-boosting sub-weapon, but the Tonberry free weapons are much better since they can be overboosted to 10.

Glaireid

This weapon deals non-elemental physical damage to all enemies with a crit rate of 10%. It boosts physical attack by 24 points and limit break potency by 12 points. It could be really good if overboosted to high levels to take advantage of the limit break potency. It's good as a sub-weapon for physical attackers but not great on Young Sephiroth himself since he is mainly designed to be a magical attacker. Its third materia slot increases earth damage by 30%. Don't invest unless you need it as a sub-weapon for your physical DPS.

Aonibi

This weapon allows Sephiroth to self-buff his magical attack. It's not really worth investing in if you can't overboost it at least one level. In auto mode, Young Sephiroth will use the buff twice to maximize its high potency and spend 8 ATB to gain 33% more damage on succeeding attacks. In short, it's not worth it in auto mode. It breaks even in manual mode in terms of damage, but it does provide some healing via regen. At OB1, though, the buff will last for 40 seconds instead of 36 seconds, enough to fire off 4 Edged Wing skills even with auto turned on. At OB6, it is his best secondary weapon, but that is whale territory already.

Mythril Type-0 Katana

This weapon allows Sephiroth to self-buff his PDEF and also applies regen. It's a good defensive weapon if you want Sephiroth to be more durable. The HP bonus also helps in that regard. It boosts magical ability potency. At higher overboost levels, it is definitely a good investment. There are better alternatives to make Sephiroth more tanky, though, like the Tonberry event weapons.

B Tier

Torn Wing

This is a free weapon from an event that can be upgraded to 10 stars. It's absolutely worth investing in for the raw stats alone. It turns Sephiroth into a PDEF buffer for the team, albeit single target. It also provides a small heal and boosts ATK by 16 points and PDEF by 4 points at level 90. Not bad at all for a free max weapon. At Overboost 10, Torn Wings gives 27 ATK and 24 PDEF. It can be used as a sub weapon by anyone to boost their offense and survivability.
