Genshin Impact: Chasca Character Quick Guide

Chasca is an Anemo damage dealer who excels at aerial combat and can deal multiple types of Elemental DMG.

Her Elemental Skill allows her to stay airborne and move swiftly. For the duration of the skill, Chasca can use Charged Attacks to lock onto enemies in a special aiming mode and fire Shells to attack. Some Shells will be converted based on the Elemental Types of your party members, dealing Elemental DMG of the corresponding Elemental Type.

Her Elemental Burst fires a Shell which deals AoE Anemo DMG. The Shell will split to attack nearby enemies and undergo Elemental Conversion based on the Elemental Types of your party members.

This guide is based on the Community Character Builds by the Genshin Helper Team.

Skills Overview

Normal Attack: Phantom Feather Flurry

Normal Attack
Performs up to 4 consecutive shots with a bow.

Charged Attack
Performs a more precise Aimed Shot with increased DMG.
While aiming, mighty winds will accumulate on the arrowhead. A fully charged wind arrow will deal Anemo DMG.

Plunging Attack
Fires off a shower of arrows in mid-air before falling and striking the ground, hitting opponents along the path and dealing AoE DMG upon impact.

Elemental Skill: Spirit Reins, Shadow Hunt

Chasca and the will residing in her weapon resonate, dealing Nightsoul-aligned AoE Anemo DMG.
After using this Skill, Chasca gains 80 Nightsoul points and enters the Nightsoul's Blessing state.

Nightsoul Point Limit: 80
CD: 6.5s

Nightsoul's Blessing: Chasca
Continually consume Nightsoul points. When Nightsoul points are fully depleted or the skill is used again, Chasca's Nightsoul's Blessing state will end.
Her Nightsoul's Blessing has the following traits: Mounts "Soulsniper: Ritual Staff," increasing Chasca's Movement SPD and interruption resistance. In this state, Chasca will continually consume Nightsoul points to remain airborne. When Sprinting or increasing height, extra Nightsoul points will be consumed.
When using Normal or Charged Attacks, Tap or Hold to switch between using "Multitarget Fire" in different ways.

While in Nightsoul's Blessing state, Tap Normal Attack to deal Anemo DMG
Hold Normal Attack to load Shadowhunt Shells. These are Shadowhunt Shells

Multitarget Fire
(Tap)
- Deal Nightsoul-aligned Anemo DMG to opponents in front. This DMG is considered Normal Attack DMG.
(Hold) - Enter Aiming Mode and choose a certain number of opponents within a certain range, before loading up to 6 Shadowhunt Shells based on the duration for which the skill was charged. When 6 Shells have been loaded or charging is stopped, these Shells will be fired at the chosen opponents in sequence.

Shadowhunt Shells
Deal Nightsoul-aligned Anemo DMG, which is considered Charged Attack DMG.
The 4th, 5th, and 6th Shells loaded into the cylinder will undergo Elemental Conversion based on the Elemental Types of the other characters in the party: For each Pyro, Hydro, Cryo, or Electro character in the party, one Shadowhunt Shell will randomly be Converted into a "Shining Shadowhunt Shell" of one of these corresponding Elemental Types, dealing Nightsoul-aligned DMG corresponding to that Elemental Type. This DMG is considered Charged Attack DMG.
The Shells loaded into the cylinder are fired starting from the last Shadowhunt Shell to be loaded, in a "last in, first out" order.

Additionally, when Chasca is in the Nightsoul's Blessing state, Holding her Elemental Skill Spirit Reins, Shadow Hunt will cause her to execute a Nightsoul-aligned Plunging Attack. Release the Elemental Skill to interrupt this Plunging Attack and maintain her airborne state. Should Chasca hit the ground with her Plunging Attack, her Nightsoul's Blessing state will end.

Elemental Burst: Soul Reaper's Fatal Round

Chasca concentrates her will, firing a single "Galesplitting Soulseeker Shell" that deals Nightsoul-aligned AoE Anemo DMG. Afterward, the Galesplitting Soulseeker Shell will split into 6 Soulseeker Shells, which attack nearby opponents.

CD: 15s
Energy Cost: 60

Soulseeker Shells
Deal Nightsoul-aligned Anemo DMG.
For each Pyro, Hydro, Cryo, or Electro character in the party, two Soulseeker Shells will undergo corresponding Elemental Conversions to become "Radiant Soulseeker Shells," which deal Nightsoul-aligned Elemental DMG from a randomly selected one of the corresponding Elemental Types.

Ascension 1: Bullet Trick

When the Elemental Skill Spirit Reins, Shadow Hunt's Multitarget Fire is being charged, if there are party members who meet the Elemental Conversion Type requirements, gain the following effects based on the number of different eligible Elemental Types present:

There is a 33.3%/66.7%/100% chance for each Type to trigger "Spiritbinding Conversion" and cause the 3rd Shadowhunt Shell loaded into the cylinder to be randomly converted into a Shining Shadowhunt Shell from one of the corresponding Elemental Types.
Each Elemental Type will grant Chasca 1 stack of Spirit of the Radiant Shadow, increasing the DMG of Shining Shadowhunt Shell by 15%/35%/65%. This effect lasts until the current Multitarget Fire ends. Max 3 stacks.

Ascension 4: Intent to Cover

When a nearby party member triggers a Nightsoul Burst, Chasca will fire a "Burning Shadowhunt Shot" at a nearby opponent, dealing Nightsoul-aligned Anemo DMG equal to 150% of the Shadowhunt Shell DMG from her Elemental Skill Spirit Reins, Shadow Hunt.
If the party has Pyro, Hydro, Cryo, or Electro characters, the Burning Shadowhunt Shot will be converted to deal Nightsoul-aligned Elemental DMG of the corresponding Elemental Type equal to 150% of the DMG dealt by Spirit Reins, Shadow Hunt's Shining Shadowhunt Shells.

Night Realm's Gift Passive: Everburning Heart

After her Nightsoul points are exhausted, Chasca will switch to consuming Phlogiston to maintain her Nightsoul's Blessing.
While in an area with Phlogiston Mechanics within Natlan, she can use Nightsoul Transmission: Chasca. When the active character is in the air, the following will occur when switching to Chasca: Chasca will enter the Nightsoul's Blessing state and gain 32 Nightsoul points. Nightsoul Transmission can be triggered once every 10s by your own team.

Passive Talent: Mediation's True Meaning

25 Phlogiston will be restored when your own party members defeat an opponent. This effect can trigger once every 12s. This has no effect in Domains, Trounce Domains, or the Spiral Abyss.

TLDR / Rotation

If you want to deal big damage with Chasca, it's from her Elemental Skill. By activating the Skill, she will stay airborne until her Nightsoul points run out. While airborne, you can either use Tap or Hold Normal ATK to deal different attacks. The Tap one is weaker version (count as Normal ATK DMG) and shouldn't be used. While the Hold version is where her big damage comes from (count as Charged ATK DMG).

When you Hold Normal ATK while hovering, Chasca will enter aiming mode and load 6 Shadowhunt Shells. The last 3 bullets will undergo Elemental Conversion based on your party members. Chasca ideally needs 3 different types of PHEC (Pyro/Hydro/Electro/Cryo) to maximize the conversion rate and Damage Bonus from her passive Bullet Trick.

Her rotation is pretty simple, all you have to do is let other support character and sub-DPS to go first > swapping to Chasca and use her Elemental Skill > Charged ATK x4 before her Nightsoul points run out.

Constellations

Best Constellations: C1, C2, C4 & C6

C1: Cylinder, the Restless Roulette
When triggering the Passive Talent "Bullet Trick"'s "Spiritbinding Conversion," the 2nd Shadowhunt Shell loaded into the cylinder will be additionally converted into a Shining Shadowhunt Shell.
The chance to trigger "Spiritbinding Conversion" is increased: If there are party members who meet the Elemental Conversion Type requirements, the chance to trigger "Spiritbinding Conversion" is increased by 33.3%, up to a maximum of 100%.
You must first unlock the Passive Talent "Bullet Trick."
In addition, Chasca's Nightsoul point and Phlogiston consumption in her Nightsoul's Blessing state is decreased by 30% while out of combat.

C2: Muzzle, the Searing Smoke
When Chasca takes the field, she will obtain 1 stack of "Spirit of the Radiant Shadow" from the Passive Talent "Bullet Trick." You must first unlock the Passive Talent "Bullet Trick" for this effect.
In addition, when the Shining Shadowhunt Shells from Spirit Reins, Shadow Hunt's Multitarget Fire hit opponents, they will deal AoE Elemental DMG of the corresponding Elemental Type of the Shining Shadowhunt Shells equal to 400% of Chasca's ATK. Increases the Level of Soul Reaper's Fatal Round by 3.
Maximum upgrade level is 15.

C6: Showdown, the Glory of Battle
Chasca's Multitarget Fire charge time is decreased, and after the Passive Talent "Bullet Trick"'s "Spiritbinding Conversion" is triggered, Chasca will gain the "Fatal Rounds" state: For the next 3s, the next time Chasca uses Spirit Reins, Shadow Hunt's Multitarget Fire, the shots will finish charging instantly, and the CRIT DMG of that instance of Multitarget Fire's Shadowhunt Shells and Shining Shadowhunt Shells increases by 120%. 1 "Fatal Rounds" effect can be gained once every 3s.

~= Scion of the Blazing Sun (4✩)*

1) Astral Vulture's Crimson Plumage (ATK: 608 • CRIT DMG: 66.2%)

For 12s after triggering a Swirl reaction, ATK increases by 24%~48%. In addition, when 1/2 or more characters in the party are of a different Elemental Type from the equipping character, the DMG dealt by the equipping character's Charged Attacks is increased by 20%/48%~40%/96% and Elemental Burst DMG dealt is increased by 10%/24%~20%/48%.

2) Aqua Simulacra (ATK: 542 • CRIT DMG: 88.2%)

HP is increased by 16~32%. When there are opponents nearby, the DMG dealt by the wielder of this weapon is increased by 20~40%. This will take effect whether the character is on-field or not.

3) Thundering Pulse (ATK: 608 • CRIT DMG: 66.2%)

Increases ATK by 20~40% and grants the might of the Thunder Emblem. At stack levels 1/2/3, the Thunder Emblem increases Normal Attack DMG by 12/24/40~24/48/80%. The character will obtain 1 stack of Thunder Emblem in each of the following scenarios: Normal Attack deals DMG (stack lasts 5s), casting Elemental Skill (stack lasts 10s); Energy is less than 100% (stack disappears when Energy is full). Each stack's duration is calculated independently.

4) Skyward Harp (ATK: 674 • CRIT Rate 22.1%)

Increases CRIT DMG by 20~40%. Hits have a 60~100% chance to inflict a small AoE attack, dealing 125% Physical ATK DMG. Can only occur once every 4~2s.

5) Amos' Bow (ATK: 608 • ATK: 49.6%)

Increases Normal Attack and Charged Attack DMG by 12~24%. After a Normal or Charged Attack is fired, DMG dealt increases by a further 8~16% every 0.1 seconds the arrow is in the air for up to 5 times.

Note: As Chasca's Shining Shadowhunt Shells are not a projectile and therefore have no travel time, she does not benefit from any stacks of this weapon's passive. It is still a good Stat stick nonetheless.

6) Polar Star (ATK: 608 • CRIT Rate 33.1%)

Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst DMG increased by 12~24%. After a Normal Attack, Charged Attack, Elemental Skill or Elemental Burst hits an opponent, 1 stack of Ashen Nightstar will be gained for 12s. When 1/2/3/4 stacks of Ashen Nightstar are present, ATK is increased by 10/20/30/48~20/40/60/96%. The stack of Ashen Nightstar created by the Normal Attack, Charged Attack, Elemental Skill or Elemental Burst will be counted independently of the others.

Note: In theory, this weapon performs slightly better than Amos' Bow. However, due to its high Crit Rate substat, optimizing builds around this weapon is very hard.

7) Flower-Wreathed Feathers (ATK: 510 • ATK 41.3%)

Decreases Gliding Stamina consumption by 15%. When using Aimed Shots, the DMG dealt by Charged Attacks increases by 6~12% every 0.5s. This effect can stack up to 6 times and will be removed 10s after leaving Aiming Mode.

Note: At [R5], this weapon performs similar to Thundering Pulse.

8) Chain Breaker (ATK: 565 • ATK 27.6%)

For every party member from Natlan or who has a different Elemental Type from the equipping character, the equipping character gains 4.8~9.6% increased ATK. When there are no less than 3 of the aforementioned characters, the equipping character gains 24~48 Elemental Mastery.

Note: Assumes 4 stacks. At [R5], this weapon performs closer to Amos' Bow, albeit still being a bit weaker.

9) Range Gauge (ATK: 565 • ATK 27.6%)

When the wielder is healed or heals others, they will gain a Unity's Symbol that lasts 30s, up to a maximum of 3 Symbols. When using their Elemental Skill or Burst, all Symbols will be consumed and the Struggle effect will be granted for 10s. For each Symbol consumed, gain 3~7% ATK and 7~13% All Elemental DMG Bonus. The Struggle effect can be triggered once every 15s, and Symbols can be gained even when the character is not on the field.

Note: Assumes 2 stacks in a team with Bennett and Furina. In teams with more reliable healers than Bennett, Chasca can consistently obtain 3 Stacks, putting this weapon close to Amos' Bow. At [R5], this weapon performs slightly better than Amos' Bow with 2 Stacks and equal to Thundering Pulse with 3 Stacks.

10) Song of Stillness (ATK: 510 • ATK 41.3%)

After the wielder is healed, they will deal 16~32% more DMG for 8s. This can be triggered even when the character is not on the field.

Note: Assumes permanent uptime on the passive. At [R5], this weapon performs slightly better than Amos' Bow.

11) Scion of the Blazing Sun (ATK: 565 • CRIT Rate 18.4%)

After a Charged Attack hits an opponent, a Sunfire Arrow will descend upon the opponent hit, dealing 60~120% ATK as DMG, and applying the Heartsearer effect to the opponent damaged by said Arrow for 10s. Opponents affected by Heartsearer take 28~56% more Charged Attack DMG from the wielder. A Sunfire Arrow can be triggered once every 10s.

Note: At [R5], this weapon performs similar to Amos' Bow, however doing a very quick aimed shot before using skill puts this weapon close to Skyward Harp (Note that this alternate rotation does not yield a worthwhile increase at lower refines).

1) Obsidian Codex

2 Piece: While the equipping character is in Nightsoul's Blessing and is on the field, their DMG dealt is increased by 15%.
4 Piece: After the equipping character consumes 1 Nightsoul point while on the field, CRIT Rate increases by 40% for 6s. This effect can trigger once every second.

2) Wanderer's Troupe

2 Piece: Increases Elemental Mastery by 80.
4 Piece: Increases Charged Attack DMG by 35% if the character uses a Catalyst or Bow.

3) Shimenawa's Reminiscence

2 Piece: ATK +18%
4 Piece: When casting an Elemental Skill, if the character has 15 or more Energy, they lose 15 Energy and Normal/Charged/Plunging Attack DMG is increased by 50% for 10s. This effect will not trigger again during that duration.

Note: The Damage Bonus this set provides is appreciated, however the energy cost reduces the frequency of Chasca's Burst, which contributes a decent amount of damage.

4) Marechaussee Hunter

2 Piece: Normal and Charged Attack DMG +15%.
4 Piece: When current HP increases or decreases, CRIT Rate will be increased by 12% for 5s. Max 3 stacks.

Note: Only useful when paired with Furina, in which case it performs very close to Obsidian Codex (4).
