IRON MAN STRATEGIES

The Invincible Duelist

As an airborne Duelist, Iron Man serves best up high, dealing bursts of small damage while opponents are distracted down below. If enemies happen to notice Iron Man up above, Hyper-Velocity enables evasive maneuvers and a quick escape. Both the basic Repulsor Blast and Unibeam also have splash damage, so even if Iron Man isn't hitting enemies dead on, the area-of-effect damage is sure to clean up large, congested groups. Utilizing Armor Overdrive, Iron Man can enhance his abilities and attacks with bonus damage, attack speed and range. Take care, however, as Iron Man is anything but iron in Marvel Rivals - with just 250 HP, firefights can go sideways fast. Don't overstay your welcome - pop in, support your team with chip damage and fly away to regroup.

Iron Man's Ultimate attack, the Invincible Pulse Cannon, deals devastating damage along with a hefty amount of splash damage, much like the other attacks in the kit. With 1000 base damage, if the attack connects, it's often a one-hit KO. Iron Man should maintain the same general gameplan when preparing to unleash Invincible Pulse Cannon: stay high and out of sight, swoop in to drop the Ultimate, clean up any stragglers if opponents haven't diverted their attention and use Hyper-Velocity to retreat to safety.

Iron Man is currently benefitting from a Team-up ability with Hulk, augmenting his abilities and attacks similar to Armor Overdrive, so Iron Man is currently a top Duelist pick for Season 0.

FINAL THOUGHTS

Iron Man is a top pick for Duelists in Season 0 due to the added Team-up benefits from Hulk. Even without a Hulk on your team, Iron Man is one of the most nimble and agile Duelists in the game, able to bob and weave through the air while dealing chip damage to enemies. To maximize Iron Man's effectiveness, however, is to recognize the character's weaknesses: the low health makes Iron Man fragile and other than Invincible Pulse Cannon, this isn't a glass cannon situation. An optimal Iron Man will deal chip damage and assist in cleaning up teammates kills rather than be the driving offensive force.

Marvel Rivals is set to release globally on December 6, 2024 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The game will be free-to-play with a current line up of 33 characters from Marvel Comics.
