Monster Slugger Build Guide

Learn how to play this mo.co Weapon and what other Gear goes well with its kit, at various stages of the game.

Monster Slugger is your default weapon when you start playing the game and it does pretty well in the early levels. It has a built-in area damage capability while being a melee weapon. Since it's a melee weapon, using items that can evenly increase its overall DPS and sustain makes more sense. Here are a few builds across various stages and modes of the game that you should try:

Early Game Build (Level 1-15)

All of the gadgets and passives mentioned in the image above can be obtained before level 15. This is the build I like to use for Monster Slugger:

  • Passives: Vampire Teeth*, Unstable Laser, Explod-o-Matic
  • Gadgets: Pepper Spray*, Boombox, Vitamin Shot*

Alternatives: Since playstyles can vary significantly, with some players preferring higher DPS while others preferring more sustain, here are a few alternatives you can swap in if you like to play a higher DPS build or a higher sustain build:

  • For DPS: You can swap Boombox with either Smart Fireworks or Monster Zapper.
  • For Higher Sustain: You can swap Explod-o-Matic with R&B Mixtape.

Gadgets and Passives with asterisks shouldn't be swapped in our opinion.*

Mid Game Build (Level 15-25)

Mid game builds can depend on what you're tackling in what mode, but honestly, I prefer using the same build as I do in Worlds:

  • Passives: Vampire Teeth, R&B Mixtape, Unstable Laser/Explode-o-Matic/Smelly Socks
  • Gadgets: Pepper Spray, Vitamin Shot, Boombox

High Level Build (Level 25+)

  • Passives: Vampire Teeth, R&B Mixtape, Unstable Laser/Smelly Socks
  • Gadgets: Spicy Dagger, Vitamin Shot, Really Cool Sticker/Snow Globe/Pepper Spray/Life Jacket

Worlds Build

Since you want to clear the monsters and farm efficiently in Worlds mode, we suggest you go with a mix of damage and sustain:

  • Gadgets: Pepper Spray, Vitamin Shot, Snow Globe/Boombox
  • Passives: Vampire Teeth, R&B Mixtape/Explod-o-Matic, Smelly Socks

This build offers good area coverage for the dense monster packs commonly found in Worlds mode while providing enough sustain to handle extended farming sessions.

Rifts Build

  • Passives: Vampire Teeth, R&B Mixtape, Unstable Laser/Smelly Socks
  • Gadgets: Spicy Dagger, Vitamin Shot, Really Cool Sticker

Note: Under Investigation

Dojo Build

Not Recommended

Versus Build

  • Passives: Vampire Teeth, R&B Mixtape, Unstable Laser/Smelly Socks
  • Gadgets: Spicy Dagger, Vitamin Shot, Life Jacket/Really Cool Sticker

Please note that builds can differ based on your playstyle, level of your gadgets, weapons, passives and there are a lot of possibilities for one single weapon. If you disagree or have some suggestions or a different build, we are open to trying it.
