Portable Portal is an unusual ranged weapon with a unique focus on gadget synergy. Instead of focusing on pure damage output, this weapon allows you to reset your rightmost gadget's cooldown through its combo mechanic. This creates interesting gameplay possibilities where you can double-cast powerful gadgets for burst damage or emergency healing. While its base damage feels underwhelming compared to other weapons, the Portable Portal's utility shines in specific setups.
Early Game Build (Level 1-15)
All of the gadgets and passives mentioned in the image above can be obtained before level 15. This is the build I like to use for Portable Portal:
- Passives: Vampire Teeth*, Explod-o-Matic*, Auto Zapper
- Gadgets: Vitamin Shot, Pepper Spray, Smart Fireworks
Alternatives: You can customize this build based on which gadget you want to reset more frequently:
- Gadgets: You can swap Smart Fireworks with Monster Zapper if you prefer more single-target damage.
- Passives: Can swap Auto Zapper with Unstable Laser.
Gadgets and Passives with asterisks shouldn't be swapped in our opinion.
Mid Game Build (Level 15-25)
The mid game build is the same as the Worlds build, focusing on maximizing the Portal's unique abilities:
- Passives: Vampire Teeth/R and B Mixtape, Explode-o-Matic Trigger, Unstable Laser/Unstable Lightning
- Gadgets: Snow Globe, Pepper Spray, Vitamin Shot/Multi Zapper/Smart Fieworks
I personally prefer Unstable Lightning in this build for its additional AoE potential.
High Level Build (Level 25+)
- Passives: Vampire Teeth/R and B Mixtape, Unstable Laser/Healthy Snacks, Unstable Lightning
- Gadgets: Snow Globe, Pepper Spray, Vitamin Shot/Multi Zapper/Smart Fireworks/Revitalizing Mist
Worlds Build
For Worlds mode, where you'll be dealing with large groups of enemies:
- Passives: Vampire Teeth/R and B Mixtape, Explode-o-Matic Trigger, Unstable Laser/Unstable Lightning
- Gadgets: Snow Globe, Pepper Spray, Vitamin Shot/Multi Zapper/Smart Fireworks
This build provides excellent area control with Snow Globe while giving you options for either sustained damage or burst damage with your third gadget slot.
Rifts Build
- Passives: Vampire Teeth/R and B Mixtape, Unstable Laser/Healthy Snacks, Unstable Lightning
- Gadgets: Snow Globe, Pepper Spray, Vitamin Shot/Multi Zapper/Smart Fireworks/Revitalizing Mist
Dojo Build
Not Recommended
Versus Build
For PvP combat with the Portable Portal:
- Passives: Vampire Teeth, Auto Zapper, Unstable Lightning
- Gadgets: Vitamin Shot/Smart Fireworks/Monster Taser, Life Jacket, Multi Zapper
Note: Remember that your rightmost gadget gets its cooldown reset with Portable Portal's mechanic, so position your most powerful or emergency gadget in that slot!
