For your initial tank, Maitha, a free legendary character, is a solid choice. If you lack a more potent tank, she can remain a valuable asset even into the late game.
The free Epic character, Angel, is a highly capable healer who can rival S-tier or A-tier units when built correctly. Given early in the game, her shards are readily available, making her easy to upgrade. Rawiyah, another free character, is a strong early-game option due to her knockback normal attacks.
