In this write-up we'll be talking about Nergal in Sword of Convallaria. Nergal and Nungal, members of The Hanged Men, embody a tale of tragedy and resilience. Nergal, a quiet and resolute young man, and Nungal, a shy yet curious girl, were orphaned when their noble family fell to political enemies. Raised and educated by Saffiyah, they chose to join The Hanged Men, driven by a deep sense of duty to their country. For Nergal, protecting Iria and Nungal defines his existence, while Nungal yearns to explore life beyond the boundaries of The Hanged Men.

Main Trait: Tactical Graple

Nergal possesses [Block]. At the end of the turn, he gains [Powerful Shield Charge], up to 2 stacks. After performing a [block], he gains [Bayonet Charge], up to 2 stacks. The first [block] of each turn decreases the CD of all skills by 1 turn.
[Block] Buff: 50% chance to face the enemy whne taking P.DMG from the front or side, decreasing DMG taken by 20%.
[Shield Charge] Buff: Increases block chance to 100%. When performing a block, reduces DMG taken by an additional 10% for each stack. Removes 1 stack after receiving a physical single-target attack.
[Powerful Shield Charge] Buff: Increases block chance to 100%. When performing a block, reduces DMG taken by an additional 15% for each stack, up to 2 stacks. Removes 1 stack after receiving a physical single-target attack.
[Bayonet Charge] Increases ATK by 10%, with the effect doubled against targets with [The Hanged Men's Mark]. Actively attacking removes all stacks.

Nergal's primary strength lies in his utility. His [Swift Assistance] skill allows him to instantly swap positions with an ally, granting both units a physical shield and protecting nearby allies from damage. This ability enables players to reposition units to avoid attacks or set up combos. Additionally, Nergal's [Quick Anchoring] skill debuff enemies with [ATK Reduction] and [Vulnerable], making them more susceptible to damage.
Nergal's passive skill, [Shadow Blade], provides him with additional offensive capabilities. When he is outside the enemy's threat range, he gains [Bayonet Charge]. While this buff is active, his single-target attacks deal extra damage to enemies with [The Hanged Man's Mark]. After attacking, the mark is removed, and Nergal gains [Life Steal]. This passive skill makes Nergal a self-sustainable character to make room for the team's healer to focus on other characters during battle.
