Momo Character Guide Sword of Convallaria

Momo Sword of Convallaria: Character Guide #23

Character Introduction

Momo is another awesome member of Sword of Convallaria. She is a Vlder girl who was once a Luxite-transformed being from Tranquillo. Horrific experiments conducted by Darklight left her scarred and detached. After escaping their control, she wanders aimlessly, indifferent to her past. Despite her physical and emotional trauma, Momo has found a strange contentment in her travels. She is accompanied by the dark power within her heart, which serves as both a source of strength and a constant reminder of her past.

Main Trait: Resonance Misfortune

Momo's passive skill, Resonance of Misfortune, increases the damage over time (DoT) taken by enemies within a certain radius. At the start of battles and the end of each action, she gains Repulsion Barrier stacks. While these stacks are active, her attack increases, and she becomes immune to counterattacks.

  • Repulsion Barrier: This buff blocks physical attacks, reduces damage taken, and is consumed one stack at a time when Momo receives damage. There is a maximum number of stacks she can have.

[For early game, Repulsion Application is better as Erosive Power doesn't boost DMG to great heights earlier on.]
Rank 5 or
Personally, I prefer the passive skill that protects Momo from ranged attacks. It somewhat avoids Momo from getting 1-shotted by an archer or a mage - which is important in some situations.

Momo Quick Guide

Momo possesses a unique set of skills in Sword of Convallaria that allow her to control the battlefield and deal significant damage over time (DoT).

  • Erosive Force Field: When an enemy's melee attack is blocked by Momo's Repulsion Barrier, she counterattacks with magical damage and inflicts the Infection debuff.
  • Revival of Misfortune: This skill instantly grants Momo two Repulsion Barrier stacks, increases her attack, and enables life steal. Additionally, she deals magical damage to nearby enemies with the Alert effect.
  • Repulsion Application: Momo can choose between Repulsion Purging and Reverse Repulsion to manipulate enemy movement, deal area-of-effect (AoE) damage, and either knock enemies back or pull them forward.
  • Misfortune Erosion: This skill deals AoE magical damage to enemies in a targeted area, applying the Infection debuff. If Momo has the Revival of Misfortune buff active, the Infection damage is immediately triggered after attacking the target, and half of the Infection stacks are removed.

Strategies for Playing Momo

Momo's effectiveness is maximized when paired with other Vlder characters, and her playstyle can vary depending on your preferences.

  • Counterattack Strategy: At rank 3 or higher, use Erosive Force Field to counterattack weaker opponents.
  • Movement Manipulation: Combine Repulsion Application with terrain manipulation or Edda's barrel to disrupt enemy positioning and punish standing enemies.
  • AoE Damage: Focus on Momo's ultimate skill and Repulsion to deal AoE damage. Consider pairing her with Ada for energy recovery and additional crowd control.

Key Points About Momo

  • Full Kit Required: To fully realize Momo's potential, it's recommended to invest in her entire skillset.
  • DoT Focus: Momo's primary strength lies in applying and triggering DoT effects.
  • Repulsion Barrier: This defensive buff enhances her survivability and attack.
  • Versatile Skillset: Momo's skills allow her to control the battlefield, deal damage, and support her allies.
