Sword of Convallaria Agata Character Guide

Agata

Best build, skills, and guide for Agata in Sword of Convallaria (SoC).

Hey all!

With Agata being confirmed as the next character getting released on 12/20, I figured Iโ€™d get the guide out so everyone can plan their pulls accordingly! It seems like sheโ€™s going to be a solid character, so I know Iโ€™ll be pulling for her!

As always, if you have any questions or comments, please let me know! Enjoy ๐Ÿ™‚

Edit: Just updated the guide to reflect that the extra movement in her trait is tied to her 3-star and 5-star.

Notes

Agata is a deadly DPS Watcher who inflicts heavy Physical and Piercing DMG on her prey. Her trait causes her to transform into her wolf form at the start of the battle (for the battleโ€™s duration), giving her additional P.ATK, P.DEF, and up to 2 extra movement (1 extra at 3-star, 2 extra at 5-star) as well as increasing her Max HP, making her immune to [Frosty] tiles, and giving her the ability to inflict a unique debuff called [Wound] on those she attacks. When she attacks an enemy with [Wound], she deals damage equal to a certain percent of her HP to the enemy, per stack (up to 4 stacks). That means that this Piercing DMG doesnโ€™t get reduced by effects that reduce Piercing DMG, since it isnโ€™t percentage-based damage, but a fixed number. This also works if she hits an enemy and inflicts the stacks of [Wound]โ€”she will do her follow-up attack immediately.

For her basic attack, I prefer her unique one for the extra DMG, but the other one is respectable, as it can prevent the enemy from using Active Skills if theyโ€™re [Injured] at the time of attack. I still prefer the raw killing power of โ€œPoweful Attackโ€, though.

While her unique reaction, โ€œElegance of the Queenโ€ is very nice (While [Healthy], the character can [dodge] 1 Melee Attack per round. Upon a successful [dodge], [Strike Back] and deals 50% DMG.), I prefer her other reaction, as it increases her Max HP by 12% and her Healing Received by 30%, which helps her stay [Healthy] (the importance of which will be explained later) and increases her Piercing DMG from her trait, as itโ€™s based on her Max HP, and 12% is pretty significant for an in-battle boost. Itโ€™s actually possible to get her up to 12-15k HP, if you build her right! And her reaction skill is part of this.

For her first main skill, I like her 3x3 AoE, โ€œThe Queenโ€™s Announcementโ€, as it allows her to inflict [Wound] on multiple enemies and instantly use a follow-up strike on all of them. Additionally, this attack inflicts [Vulnerable II] and [โ–ผ SPD II] for 2 turns on any foes struck by it, so if they donโ€™t get killed, theyโ€™ll be wiped out more easily by your other characters. This only costs 2 NRG, and can be used without any cooldown at all!

For content with only one enemy, or where you have another source of [Vulnerable] debuffs, you might also consider her [Instant] skill, โ€œBlink Strikeโ€, as it gives her an option to inflict some [Wound] stacks on an enemy before following up with her main attack that turn. Just be aware that it has a 3-turn cooldown, so it canโ€™t be used every turn.

For her second skill slot, bring โ€œFeastโ€, as itโ€™s her big single-target nuke. It hits 4 times, up to 2 tiles away, which means it punches easily through most [Dodge] effects, and it also recovers 40% of Agataโ€™s HP. If sheโ€™s already [Healthy] at the time of attack, she heals all allies within 3 tiles of her for 25% of her (not their) Max HP, which is incredibly significant for most characters who have about half of her Max HP. This is a great attack not only because of its effects, but also because its cost is just 3 NRG, with no cooldown at all between uses! This skill is an absolute must-bring.

For her final skill slot, I suggest bringing โ€œTaste of Preyโ€, as it provides her with a buff by the same name which gives the effect, โ€œIncreases Movement by 2 tiles, and additionally recovers 1 NRG upon launching an active attack,โ€ for 2 turns, as long as she starts the turn within 6 tiles of any enemy. This gets reapplied every 2 turns, so it should always be active. The only thing to watch out for is that the buff can be dispelled, so make sure youโ€™re aware of that. The movement buff from this skill stacks with her trait, so Agata will normally have 7(!) movement range! With March Command, that shoots up to 10 tiles!

For a weapon I suggest Newborn Blade for its HP boost, which helps her a great deal for both survivability and damage, plus increases her traitโ€™s Piercing DMG. For a trinket, I recommend Crystal Burst Armor, also for the HP boost. As a backup, you can also opt for the Spring Pill to to her health back up into [Healthy] before using โ€œFeastโ€. For a tarot, I suggest the Fool, again for HP. If you donโ€™t have a good Foolโ€™s tarot, either Hierophant or Magician will help her damage output, as well! In that case, just decide if you want to focus on single-target or AoE DMG, respectively. I didnโ€™t have room for it, but you could also consider Devil on her. For engravings, I suggest wand + sword, especially given her high mobility, but cup + sword can help keep her healthy. When rolling stats, aim for HP and P.ATK, in that order.
