Guzman Guide Sword of Convallaria

Guzman Sword of Convallaria: Character Guide #22

Character Introduction

Guzman is one my personal favorite in Sword of Convallaria. He is a formidable warrior clad in obsidian armor, is a cornerstone of Darklight's forces. His strength is unparalleled, and his obedience unquestioning. However, beneath his imposing exterior lies a tormented soul. Once a loving father, Guzman's life took a tragic turn after his daughter's disappearance. The loss has driven him to the brink of despair, his mind consumed by the haunting memory. Tranquillo, the mastermind behind Darklight, saw potential in Guzman's anguish and subjected him to experiments, transforming him into a living weapon.

Now, Guzman serves as a chilling reminder of Darklight's power. His eyes, once filled with warmth, now reflect a cold, empty void. Yet, amidst his despair, a glimmer of humanity remains. The name of his lost daughter echoes endlessly in his mind, a constant reminder of the love he once knew. Guzman's story is a tragic tale of loss, transformation, and the enduring power of human emotion. As he continues to serve Darklight, his tormented soul remains a haunting reminder of the consequences of obsession and the destructive nature of unchecked power.

Main Trait: Undead Corpse

Guzman's "Undead Corpse" trait enhances his resilience and strength in battle. He gains [Toughness] and boosts his attack power by 10% when [Injured] and by an additional 20% when [Dying]. Guzman also becomes immune to [Null-Resolve], making him even harder to take down.

If defeated, he transforms into a [Skeleton] with 50% decreased defense, but he can return to the fight, albeit with reduced defense, until the end of the battle. This transformation can only happen once per battle, adding to his survival and threat on the battlefield. Fun fact: Guzman is one of the few characters that can 'revive' in Sword of Convallaria.

Guzman Quick Guide

Guzman, often overlooked in the current META of Sword of Convallaria, is a character with immense potential (if you find yourself lacking any other bruisers in your team that you like). Unlike traditional DPS or tanks, Guzman is a Bruiser. This role combines the durability of a tank with the offensive capabilities of a DPS. His kit is designed to sustain damage, deal significant blows, and control the battlefield.

Guzman's defining trait is his ability to revive after being defeated. This unique mechanic allows him to persist in battle, making him a formidable adversary. His skill tree offers a variety of options to enhance his survivability and offensive prowess. Talking about the skill tree, always equip his CORE SKILL - Furious Pursuit: This is a single-target attack dealing 120% damage. If the target isn’t defeated, Guzman performs a Pursuit at the cost of 20% of his current HP. It’s a high-risk, high-reward move that fits his aggressive playstyle.

In PvP, CN Server veterans have found success with Guzman by equipping both his Rank-3 skills, [Soul Catcher] and [Earthquake]. As a melee Bruiser, Guzman faces a disadvantage against the prevalent ranged units in the game. His aggressive playstyle, charging into the fray, often leaves him vulnerable to ranged attacks. This limitation can make him less appealing to players seeking versatile and reliable options. However, with [Soul Catcher] and [Earthquake], Guzman can bridge the gap between himself and ranged opponents, stunning them during battle. Even a brief stun can be decisive in a heated PvP encounter, making this combination a valuable asset for experienced players.
