In this guide, I’ve gone over the various tactics in the game, as well as some general talent information that might be helpful to newer players. I’ve rated the tactics relative to one another, and something to keep in mind on those ratings is that they’re factoring in the inherent opportunity cost of picking/using them versus picking/using others. As such, the more generally useful ones (for difficult content especially) will be given higher ratings. Obviously, for easier content, the importance of picking specific tactics diminishes.
General Talent Information
At the beginning of the game, prioritize nodes in this general order: TP > P.ATK/M.ATK > Unique Stat Nodes > HP > P.DEF/M.DEF
Later on, for specific classes, you generally will want to prioritize nodes as follows:
- Breakers: P.ATK
- Seekers: P.ATK
- Defenders: HP
- Destroyers: M.ATK (P.ATK for Dantalion)
- Watchers: P.ATK
You will easily have more than enough gold (and lower) rarity materials to get every single upgrade that requires them, so don’t worry too much about missing out on those earlier nodes, you’ll soon have enough to get them all.
TP is incredibly important for ensuring you can use as many tactics as possible, as quickly as possible. Especially prioritize Initial TP and the nodes that both increase TP restored per action and at the end of each turn.
Later nodes will be incredibly costly to complete, so always make sure to get rainbow-rarity talent materials whenever you can from events—this is the true endgame of progression in SoC.
For tactics, I like to bring [Urgent Order], [March Command], and [Flag of Convallaria] for general content, and I swap in [War Horn] for more challenging content with high-HP enemies, like bosses.
