The Witch of Command, Nec's Background Story

A Love Lost, a Power Reborn

Nec, the Witch of Command, is a tragic figure shrouded in forbidden magic and unwavering loyalty. Before the events of ASTRA: Knights of Veda, Nec, known as the Witch of the Command, fell deeply in love with a knight named Roderick. Unbeknownst to her, Roderick was unwittingly entangled with the Rogued Ones, a nefarious group.

Betrayal and Sacrifice

Their love story takes a devastating turn when Nec is attacked by the Rogued Ones. Believing Roderick to be a traitor, her world crumbles further when he seemingly betrays her. However, in a final act of heroism, Roderick sacrifices himself to protect Nec from a fiery comet, losing an arm in the process. As he lays dying, he reaffirms his love for her, leaving Nec consumed by despair and fury.

Forbidden Ritual and a Vow of Vengeance

Driven by grief and rage, Nec unleashes a forbidden spell, obliterating her attackers. This dark magic also seemingly revives Roderick, but at a terrible cost. Nec utilizes the bodies of the fallen to fuel the ritual, resurrecting a twisted version of her beloved with a regenerated arm. Now bound to her will as undead, Roderick becomes a pawn in her quest for vengeance.

A Mysterious Return

In the present timeline, Nec mysteriously reappears. Guided by Xanthia's notes regarding the Sealed Prison, it's revealed that Nec sealed herself within these notes to regain her power while the player and Xanthia fought the Rogued Ones. Emerging, she summons the undead soldiers previously defeated throughout the game, showcasing their unwavering loyalty as her eternal servants.

A Confrontation and an Uncertain Future

Xanthia retaliates with a powerful spell, engulfing everything in a black hole. This seemingly destroys both Nec and her undead army. However, Nec utters a final cryptic message, urging [the player] to meet her again before disappearing entirely.
