DC: Dark Legion has brings together DC Universe heroes and villains in an exciting mobile strategy game. With nearly 50 characters available at launch and more coming soon, choosing which Champions to invest in can be overwhelming, especially with limited resources. This DC: Dark Legion tier list will help you decide which heroes deserve your resources based on overall performance, utility, and accessibility.

Currently, the meta is dominated by powerhouses like Superman, Joker, Green Lantern, Deathstroke, and Sinestro, but there are excellent F2P options like Wonder Woman, Green Arrow, and Mera that can compete effectively with the right team composition.

In this guide, I'll rank the best heroes in DC: Dark Legion from S-tier to D-tier, based on their overall performance. Before we dive into ranking the heroes into different tiers, this is what every tier in our tier list means:

S Tier: Meta-defining heroes that excel in most content and are worth investing in regardless of team composition
A Tier: Excellent heroes that perform very well in the right teams and are solid investments
B Tier: Good heroes that can be effective with proper investment, but may be outshined by higher tiers
C Tier: Situationally useful heroes that generally require specific team compositions to shine
D Tier: Heroes with significant limitations that are not recommended for investment unless you're a collector

Here's how all available heroes currently rank in DC: Dark Legion:

Best Heroes in DC Dark Legion

Superman

Superman is currently the best damage dealer in the game. As a Mythic hero, Superman is absolutely worth investing in if you can obtain him. His freeze ability can temporarily disable enemies, and his heat ray reduces enemy defense, further amplifying his damage output. If you're going to spend resources on any character, Superman should be your top priority.

Joker

The Joker's strength comes from stacking damage over time. This makes him particularly effective in challenging PvE content. Furthermore, he pairs really well with other high-tier characters such as Batman, Harley Quinn, and more, which further solidifies his position as an S-tier character.

Sinestro

Sinestro stands as the best magical damage dealer in the game. His AOE ultimate can completely delete enemy teams with enough investment, making him invaluable for clearing waves of enemies.

His consistent high damage and ability to hit multiple targets make him a cornerstone for any team, especially if you are making a team around the Energy Wielder synergies. You can further pair him with other Legion of Doom characters which will help speed up his energy restoration.

Constantine

Constantine is a versatile spellcaster who excels in area damage output. With his Justice League Dark and Energy Wielder synergies, he fits perfectly into several meta-team compositions. On top of his heavy damage, he also deals damage over time.

A Tier Characters

Deathstroke

Deathstroke is one of the most powerful single-target damage dealers in the game, capable of eliminating high-priority targets quickly. His kit allows him to jump behind enemy front lines and take out vulnerable back-line characters. While extremely effective, he requires specific team compositions to truly shine, which is why he sits in A tier rather than S. With proper support, however, he can perform at an S-tier level in certain situations.

Green Lantern

Although Green Lantern is the best healer in the game, he requires significant investment to reach his full potential. His healing capabilities are unmatched, and he brings additional utility with his 2-second stun ability. He pairs extremely well with other Justice League characters like Superman, Green Arrow, and Wonder Woman, which will increase your champions' ATK and HP by 15% and 10% due to the Justice League synergy. However, without proper investment, his healing output may not be sufficient for the most challenging content.

Batman

Batman serves as a strong addition to Justice League teams and is particularly effective as the centerpiece of Bat-family lineups.

His damage output is respectable, and his survivability allows him to remain in the fight long enough to make an impact. For players looking to build around the Bat-family synergy, Batman is an essential component.

Green Arrow

Green Arrow is primarily a single-target ranged DPS option. He's readily available to all players, making him a staple for early to mid-game progression.

His kit includes high critical damage. Green Arrow fits perfectly into Justice League team compositions, further enhancing his utility for new players.

Wonder Woman

Wonder Woman stands as the best accessible tank in the game outside of Scarecrow. As a Legendary hero, she's much easier to obtain and star up, making her an essential build for non-spenders.

Her kit includes shields and incapacitate abilities, two of the most powerful mechanics in the game. These allow her to both protect her team and control enemy threats. Don't underestimate her impact just because she's a Legendary - Wonder Woman is a cornerstone for nearly any team composition.

Raven

While not the best pure healer in the game, Raven is quite a powerful character in PvP. Her ability to swap positions with frontline tanks can save them from death at critical moments, completely reversing the momentum of a battle. She pairs extremely well with characters from Energy Wielder synergy, but in our opinion she gets easily overshadowed by healers such as Green Lantern and Mera.

Mera

Mera is the one of the best pure healer available, making her an essential build for free-to-play players. While Green Lantern offers superior healing, Mera is much more accessible as a Legendary hero.

Her healing ability creates a small AOE circle. The main drawback to using Mera is her lack of tag synergies, which means she doesn't contribute to many team bonuses. However, her raw healing output more than makes up for this limitation.

Poison Ivy

Poison Ivy offers a unique combination of healing and damage, making her incredibly versatile and viable in the current meta.

What makes Ivy particularly annoying to face (and excellent to use) is that enemies often waste their ultimate abilities on her vines instead of your actual heroes. She also brings crowd control. If you make complete use of her, pair her with Joker, Dr Fate (if you don't have Green Lantern), Mera, and Scarecrow.

Scarecrow

Scarecrow is the strongest tank in the game and should be a part of most of the team compositions. What makes Scarecrow particularly valuable is his dual synergy with both Legion of Doom and Arkham's Most Wanted, allowing him to bridge different team compositions. This versatility enables powerful team combinations like Joker, Ivy, Scarecrow, Sinestro, and either Deathstroke or Lex Luthor.

Black Adam

Black Adam delivers excellent spiritual damage and possesses a powerful AOE ultimate. While he doesn't reach the heights of Sinestro in terms of raw damage, he's much more accessible.

Zatanna

Zatanna has quickly established herself as the best pure support in the game. She can boost team attack while also dealing respectable damage herself.

Harley Quinn

Harley Quinn offers excellent sustain through her self-healing mechanics that trigger off damage dealt, and her AOE attacks make her useful in multiple game modes. On top of that, she has three different synergies, making her viable in various teams. Lastly, if she gets a kill, she gets extra energy, which can be further capitalised on. In our opinion, you should definitely invest a bit of resources in her, especially during your early account progression.

Dr. Fate

Dr. Fate's shield mechanic provides exceptional protection against burst damage, making him particularly valuable in PvP and challenging PvE content. His ability to shield the entire team can be a game-changer.

While his personal damage output is quite low, Dr. Fate functions effectively even at zero stars, making him an excellent option for non-spenders. When paired with healers like Poison Ivy, his shields create an extremely durable defensive setup that can outlast most opponents.

B-Tier Heroes

C-tier and D-tier heroes have significant limitations that make them less desirable than other options in most situations.

Top Meta Team Compositions

Justice League Domination

Team: Superman, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Green Arrow
Strengths: Excellent balance of damage, healing, and tankiness. Full Justice League synergy provides massive stat boosts.
Weaknesses: Requires multiple Legendary heroes, making it less F2P friendly.

Legion of Doom Destruction

Team: Sinestro, Scarecrow, Joker, Deathstroke, Dr Fate
Strengths: High damage output and strong crowd control potential.
Weaknesses: Lacks dedicated healing, which can be problematic in extended fights.

F2P Friendly Build

Team: Wonder Woman, Mera, Green Arrow, Black Adam, Killer Croc
Strengths: Accessible heroes with good synergy and balanced roles.
Weaknesses: Will eventually be outperformed by teams with more higher tier heroes.

For non-spenders, focusing on accessible Legendary heroes like Wonder Woman, Mera, Green Arrow, and Black Adam will provide the strongest foundation. If you can obtain Mythic heroes like Superman, Joker, or Sinestro, they're absolutely worth investing in, but don't spread your resources too thin trying to build every character.
