Character Guide — Angelica

Angelica is a Magic Light DPS that primarily deals damage based on enemy max HP. She also functions as a bruiser, giving herself damage reduction buffs to help mitigate the damage that she takes. If you're looking for a Light DPS for PvE content, she offers some of the easiest ways to deal tons of damage.

HP Scaling Skills
Character skills that scale off HP (whether their own or the enemy's) cap off at a 20,000 coefficient. This means that if the character or the enemy has more than 20,000 HP, the skill treats them as if they have exactly 20,000 HP instead.

Strengths and Weaknesses

Angelica scaling off enemy HP makes it so that she requires very little investment (especially levels) for beginners to perform well.
Her damage return of investment is very high, making her capable of trivializing a lot of early to mid-game content.

Her not being reliant on MATK buffs means that she can easily be slotted in both magic and physical teams.
Potentials give Angelica a full skill cycle with only two costumes.

Besides Diana, the only way to reliably buff Angelica's damage is through chains.
This means that Angelica's damage ceiling is much lower than other DPS units at endgame investment, which is relevant in endgame PvE such as Fiend Hunt or scoring high in Last Night.

Costumes

Angelica currently has 3 costumes. The Fallen and Pool Party both deal raw HP based damage, while Neon Saviour deals HP based damage in the form of a long-lasting DoT. All of her costumes include a damage reduction buff to herself.

The Fallen is Angelica's base costume, recruitable in the pub's rotating pool.

This costume is good for its cost, dealing a single hit of HP% damage. The pattern can be hard to utilize, but it's better to think of it as a single target nuke that hits other enemies when circumstances allow for it. Angelica gains 50% damage reduction from this costume, which is decent for tanking, but much twice as worse compared to her other two costumes with 75% reduction.

Pool Party is Angelica's best costume, with a decent AoE while also dealing the most damage out of her costumes in a single turn. If you do not have this costume, it's probably not recommended to invest in her. If you have both Pool Party and The Fallen, you can unlock both of their CD reduction potentials so you can use her skills every turn.

Neon Saviour is the least impressive of Angelica's costumes, but it has its uses. Its 3 tile AoE covers enemy formations that her other two costumes can't, while it is also her highest damaging skill provided that the battle lasts for a couple of turns. Given that she has tons of damage reduction across her costumes, she can tank enemy hits in order to get those turns. The long cooldown is a shame, but with her other costumes having 3 turn cooldowns, that downside shouldn't be much of a problem.

Neon Saviour also happens to be Angelica's best bond potential for PvE content, so getting a single copy of her at least will benefit her.

Building Angelica

Angelica only needs Crit DMG and Crit Rate in order to deal damage. Prioritize building Crit DMG in PvE, and prioritize building towards the Crit Rate cap in PvP.

Evil Sword Jormun
Exclusive Stat — 90% Crit DMG
This exclusive weapon is a considerable boost to Angelica's DMG, which is capped by the total CDMG she has access to.

Neon Saviour

Pool Party is Angelica's best bonds in PvE because it has the most CDMG out of her costume bonds. It's also her best bonds in PvP.

If you want a slight edge against Dark enemies, you may use Neon Saviour bonds.

Optimal Build [PvE]

or

Optimal Substats — 15 CDMG substats

Build as much CDMG as possible for Angelica (she can get up to around 900% CDMG without buffs). Note that you can also use the physical counterparts of the weapon and gloves, so long as you use the ones with CDMG and Crit Rate main stats.

Build either full DEF or full MRES depending on the enemies you're facing.

Optimal Build [PvP]

or

Build as much Crit Rate as possible, 100% if you're willing to put in the investment, then put the rest of your substats in either CDMG or HP% for survivability. A UR4 build will require 6 Crit Rate substats to reach 100%. You can usually get by with around 450%-500% CDMG for PvP.
