Honkai: Star Rail Pure Fiction Technicality Entrapment Guide

Pure Fiction has arrived with the new Grit mechanic that massively helps your team. This guide will introduce you to the new Pure Fiction and the current 'best' team recommendation to help you in getting full stars.

Grit Mechanics in Pure Fiction 2.7

What is Grit Mechanics?
In short, it's a buff. You need to accumulate Grit Value during battle and once the said Grit Value is full, you will enter the Surging Grit phase that grants powerful stage buffs and significantly improves combat efficiency.

How to accumulate Grit Value?
1) Defeat enemies to gain Grit Value; 5 Grit Value for each enemy defeated
2) Fulfil the Grit Mechanics (changed every season).
In the current season: After allies use Skill to attack enemy targets, every enemy target hit additionally accumulates 5 Grit Value for allies

Surging Grit (Current Season's Buff)

Upon entering Surging Grit, advances all allies actions by 100% and increases DMG received by enemy targets during this period by 50%.
Additionally, after an ally uses their Skill to attack an enemy target, deals an additional set amount of DMG to all attacked enemy targets and adjacent targets.

Surging Grit will last for a certain amount of action value (you can see in the Action Order on the left side).
Upon exiting the Surging Grit phase, a portion of Grit Value will be returned based on the numbers of enemies defeated during the phase, with a limit on the amount returned. The limit is 30, so you only need to defeat 6 enemies within this phase to get the full point.

First Half - Wave 1

In the first wave, there are only mobs and no elite enemies. But don't worry as mobs will keep spawning if any of them dies.

Can you see the long HP bar at the top? Those are the 'boss' HP in this wave and you need to defeat the non-boss enemies in this wave to reduce said 'boss' HP. Only after the 'boss' is defeated will you move to the next wave.

Among the enemies, pay extra attention to the Mr. Domescreen and make sure its on the Surprise Channel (happy face channel) so when it turn comes, it will regenerates energy for a random ally. You can switch its channel by attacking it.

In case you're not aware, the Lordly Trashcan has no weakness. You can add weakness by attacking it, but only the first 2 attacks will implement the weakness to the trashcan. For this enemy, you don't have to defeat it, just Weakness Break is enough to make it count as 'defeated'.

First Half - Wave 2

In the second wave, the mobs are not strong as per usual, but it's best if you know a bit about them.

For the Automaton Beetle, when it's their turn, it will create a barrier and attack you. The barrier can be destroyed after one attack but make sure you do it before triggering any Ultimate.
Although the barrier is flimsy, it can withold one instant of attack, even if it's overpowered like Lightning Lord's attack or Acheron's Ultimate.

While for the Meme "Heartbreaker", whenever it's not Weakness Broken, the DMG they received will be reduced so the best way to deal with this guy to if Weakness Break it. Its weaknesses are Ice, Lightning, and Fire.

First Half - Wave 3

In the last wave, the boss is The Ascended and you need to know it's mechanic before hand or you might be left flabbergasted during the fight.

Some may remember the Disciples of Sanctus Medicus type of enemy here, but don't worry as this one is not the type that will resurrect itself and restore HP to half when it dies. If this enemy’s HP reaches 0, it will die normally.
While for the Wraith Warden, this one is the trickier one because it has the ability to inflict Reverberation to a target. If your character who was inflicted with Reverberation got attacked, they will be stunned and can't take action.

For the boss lady herself, she can inflict your character with Prana-Siphon, which will reduce your character's Max HP. If you're bringing a shielder, it may not affect you much. But if you bring a healer, unless your healer can cleanse the debuff, you can't heal your character to their full HP.

Second Half - Wave 1

In the first wave, there are only mobs and no elite enemies. Mobs will keep spawning if any of them dies. Same as in the first half, keep focus on Weakness Breaking the enemies and defeating them here.

Second Half - Wave 2

In the second wave, all the enemies here only deal single-target damage, so if you're bringing a shielder, hopefully the mobs won't keep attacking the same ally until the shield break.

The IPC Grunt mob here will gain 1 Performance Point by attacking your character. But hilariously enough, those point will do nothing because the only one who can make use of those Performance Point is Senior Staff: Team Leader (a boss) and they're not here. So you can just treat these Grunts like the usual mob and ignore the point.

Second Half - Wave 3

In the last wave, the combination of the boss and the mobs here are pretty dangerous unless you bring along a healer that can cleanse debuff.

First of all, the boss. It can inflict Reverberation to a target. If your character who was inflicted with Reverberation got attacked, they will be stunned and can't take action.

With the help of Dragonfish's AoE attack and Wolftroop's Blast attack, if your character has the Reverberation debuff, you have the high chance to be stunned. And only with a healer that can cleanse can you remove it.

First Half - Wave 2

The second wave has 'Past Confined and Caged' as the boss and the other two mobs will keep spawning once you defeat them. The boss itself is not that big of a deal if you bring along a sustain unit. All you need to do is focusing on defeating the enemies to gain Grit Value.

Just in case, learn a little bit about the mechanic of these Sableclaw Wolftrooper. When the battle first started, they will have stack of Bloodlust beside their HP. If your character attack them, the stack will increase and once Bloodlust reaches a certain stack, all the wolves on the floor will enter the Moon Rage state.

In the Moon Rage state, the wolves' SPD increases, and their attacks have a high chance on inflicting Bleed on your characters. You can dispel this state by Weakness Break them. All problems are solved if you just Weakness Break them, honestly.

First Half - Wave 3

The third wave is obviously the hardest with Gepard as the boss. He can create a shield for the team (except for himself) and deals decent damage himself.

The shield that he makes is not the overpowered one like the one you find in the Apocalyptic Shadow where you need to attack it multiple time before it will break. No. The shield he provide in this Pure Fiction is much weaker and can be broken in just one hit. It's best if you bring AoE unit so they can break this shield instantly on all enemies.
Tips: Gepard will always create a shield for his team on his second turn.

Friendly reminder that this small enemy has a skill that can restore HP for its teammates. It's best if you can defeat this mob before it can move and heal the enemies.

Second Half - Wave 2

The second wave is pretty annoying because of the Performance Point mechanic. But once you understand it and have the best element to deal with them, this wave will be a walk in the park.

All the mobs here will gain 1 Performance Point once it attack your team. These points can be absorbed by the boss to deal heavy attack to the whole team.
But you can steal the point beforehand by Weakness Breaking then enemies or defeat them. You won't get anything by stealing the Performance Point except hindering the boss from dealing the heavy damage.

The best part is every enemies in this wave have Ice and Fire weaknesses. Everyone have Herta for free and she's practically the MVP for this wave, especially if you bring her best partner Jade or Himeko. You can keep Weakness Breaking the enemies and stop the boss from dealing any huge damage.

Second Half - Wave 3

Last but no least the Abundant Ebon Deer. This wave is much trickier than the previous ones because the twigs have different weaknesses.

Among the twigs, you want to focus on defeating the Twig of Glorious Blooms because it can heal the whole enemy's party. If there's 2 of these twigs on the arena? That's double the HP healed for the deer and we don't want that.

There will be a time when the deer has increased DEF and make it so its Toughness can't be reduced. This one is a bit problematic because you can't Weakness Break the deer so you just need to focus on the mobs until the effect wears off and you can reduce the boss' Toughness again later.
Unless you defeat deer beforehand of course, because defeating the twigs will also reduce the boss' HP.
