Atelier Resleriana: Attributes and Roles Explained

Character Attributes

In Atelier Resleriana, characters possess distinct attributes, contributing to the complexity of gameplay. With a total of seven attribute types, four dedicated to magical attributes and three to physical attributes as seen in the picture below:

Each character and enemy have their own attribute resistance, so it's important check the enemy’s resistance value before battles and to build your party accordingly. Additionally, there are no weak attributes on allies. However, there are attribute resistances where each enemy or character has their own resistance level towards the available attributes.

Enemies have a shield gauge that needs to be dealt with and “breakers” can deplete those resistance faster in addition to considering the enemy’s resistance value. Some enemies are weak to magical attribute attacks while some are weak to physical attribute attacks as seen from the picture below:

To assess character attributes, simply go to the character details screen, where icons unveil the unique strengths of each character. Gain valuable insights into enemy weaknesses through quest information, facilitating the creation of a balanced party.

In the heat of battles, careful observation allows players to identify and exploit enemy vulnerabilities strategically when choosing skills, providing a tactical advantage. Adapting to the enemy's weaknesses ensures efficient damage output, emphasizing the need for a well-rounded party with optimal attribute coverage.

Attributes extend their influence to equipment, impacting memoria, weapons, and armor. Some items activate unique effects when matched with specific attributes, emphasizing the importance of careful consideration before equipping gear.

Character Roles

There are four types of character roles in Atelier Resleriana: Attacker, Breaker, Defender, and Supporter. Each role has a different function, so it's important to change your party organization according to the quest.

  • Attackers are good at dealing damage, so you'll want to have at least one in your party. These characters takes on the role of being a “boss killer” or the one to wipe out the enemy once the breakers do their thing.
  • Breakers are good at breaking the enemy's shield, so they can be helpful if you're having trouble damaging the enemy. Basically, they reduce the enemy’s “Shield Gauge” more effectively compared to the other characters with different roles.
  • Defenders are good at taking damage, so they can help protect your other characters. They have an innate ‘taunt’ multiplier to ensure enemy attacks them more often to protect your squishy characters.
  • Supporters are good at healing and buffing your other characters, so they can help keep your party healthy and strong. They also provide various utilities for your team like buffs, de-buffs, cleansing from status effects, and so on.

Bonus Tip: Explaining Character Stats

In Atelier Resleriana there are six types of stats — HP, speed, physical attack, magic attack, physical defense, and magic defense.

  • HP (Hit Points): Vital for survival, as characters reaching zero HP are incapacitated.
  • Speed: Influences action order at the battle's outset, with higher speed granting a strategic advantage.
  • Physical Attack: Determines damage and recovery amounts from physical skills.
  • Physical Defense: Mitigates damage received from physical skills.
  • Magic Attack: Influences damage and recovery amounts from magical skills.
  • Magic Defense: Shields against damage inflicted by magical skills.

Stuck on a stage? Analyze enemy stats, especially their weaknesses and defense against magic and physical attacks. Bringing the right characters – magic for magic vulnerabilities, physical for physical ones – can be the key to victory.

Moving Forward

Navigating the intricacies of Atelier Resleriana's character attributes reveals a balance that is neither overly complex nor simplistic. The duality of magical and physical attacks introduces a layer of strategy, with each type boasting its distinct attributes—Magical (Fire, Ice, Thunder, and Wind) and Physical (Slash, Strike, Pierce). The game's four roles—Attacker, Breaker, Defender, and Supporter—further enhance its depth, requiring a nuanced understanding for effective party organization based on quest-specific demands.

We hope this guide has helped you familiarize yourselves with each character and provided you with valuable insights into strategic team selection for the global launch of Atelier Resleriana.
