Blue Archive Cherino (Hot Spring)

Character Overview

Cherino (Hot Spring) is a Permanent 3* Explosive Special student who will have a rate-up banner during the upcoming event "Operation record of No. 227 Hot Spring Resort" alongside other banners Chinatsu (Hot Spring), Nodoka (Hot Spring), and Shigure (Hot Spring). For newer players, O.Cherino is a decent addition to your roster as she provides good AoE coverage against enemies in general content, but as you progress through the game, O.Cherino is usually benched for other AoE damage dealers.

If you are reading this on her banner, you might be wondering if she is worth pulling. We recommend skipping this banner as she has not found any relevant usage in raids. In addition, there is an upcoming limited/collab banner.

Strengths

  • Good AoE mobbing potential
  • Decent statstick

Weaknesses

  • No relevant late game usage (As of writing)

Skill Review

EX Skill

To start things off, we have Cherino’s EX Skill, which summons a TS vehicle to the field for 50 seconds. This is treated like a striker student, which has its own HP bar and can be defeated in battle. Similar to most TS, it will gain an additional Basic Skill Total Annihilation! and Auto Attacks now deal AoE damage.

After every 3 Auto Attacks, Total Annihilation! is used and deals damage to 1 enemy plus an additional fan-shaped AoE behind them. A great skill on paper but has low damage multipliers, making it difficult to use in most raids. In general content, if you are willing to spend 6 skill points and pair O.Cherino with an ATK SPD buffer, she can be a strong wave clear option.

Basic Skill

Next, we have O.Cherino’s Basic Skill, which deals damage to enemies in a circular AoE. This has a respectable multiplier and is activated every 15 seconds with Bond Item unlocked; it adds an additional AoE Puddle that deals damage every 1s for 5s.

Enchanced Skill

Your standard Enhanced Skill increases O.Cherino’s ATK both at base and UE40. Since its values are somewhat underwhelming when compared to other Enhanced ATK boosts, leveling this skill is not a priority, as her other skills either buff the team or deal damage.

Sub Skill

Lastly, we have O.Cherino’s Sub Skill, which increases the team’s Crit DMG. An overall great effect as Crit DMG buffs are always welcome since this affects the whole team, this also helps her own damage output. Raising this skill should take priority over the other skills, as the rest of her kit is underwhelming.

Gameplay Progression

Early game: For the early game, she can be a decent Explosive AoE damage dealer, especially if she is paired with an ATK SPD buffer. Note that she should never be your first option since there are several alternatives available.

Early game alternatives:

Students listed here are only some of the notable options available.

Late game (High Investment): In the late game, O.Cherino does not find any relevant usage as there is no Explosive mobbing raid. If you are desperate for a Crit DMG Sub, she can be a decent statstick with Crit DMG Sub and a decent ATK stat.

  • Minimum Required Investment: Unique Equipment 50
  • Skill Leveling Priority: Sub > Basic > Enhanced

Conclusion

O.Cherino is an underwhelming student who struggles to find any relevant usage in the late game. While she is not a weak student on paper, there is no content where she is the primary choice for a damage dealer and there are usually better options for other raids. Additionally, she has to compete against other Special students who provide more to the team (Ako, Himari, and NY.Fuuka).

How Much Should I Invest?: She is your standard damage dealer that wants Unique Equipment 50 to maximize her damage.
