Blue Archive Miyu (Swimsuit) Overview

Character Overview

Miyu (Swimsuit) is a Welfare 1* Explosive Special student who will be given for free during the upcoming event "Special Summer Mission! RABBIT Squad and the Mystery of the Missing Shrimp" alongside other banners Miyako (Swimsuit) and Saki (Swimsuit). She is a Special AoE damage dealer that has guaranteed crits on her EX Skill and a crit-centric skillset.

Strengths

  • Can be raised to Unique Equipment 50 during her event
  • Guaranteed crits

Weaknesses

  • Lower damage when compared to other alternatives such as Minori or Yuzu (Maid)

Skill Review

EX Skill

First off, we have Miyu’s EX Skill, which deals damage to enemies in a rectangular AoE. What makes this skill unique is its effect to guarantee Crits, which leads to fewer resets when maximizing damage in raids. Keep in mind that even with guaranteed crits, the damage this skill deals is generally worse than other damage dealers, such as Minori or Yuzu (Maid), due to their higher multipliers.

Basic Skill

Next, we have Miyu’s Basic Skill, which deals damage to enemies in a fan-shaped area. While this skill does deal a decent amount of damage (702% Lv10), it only triggers every 70s and cannot be manually targeted making it difficult to rely on this skill.

Enchanced Skill

Moving on to her Enhanced Skill, it increases ATK and Crit DMG, similar to Miyu’s original counterpart. However, the core difference is that Miyu (Swimsuit) can finally take advantage of Crit buffs with her EX Skill. Whether you should prioritize raising this skill or Sub Skill will highly come down to what content you will be bringing her to. We recommend Enhanced Skill first if you plan to have Miyu (Swimsuit) as your main damage dealer for Gregorius.

Sub Skill

Finally, Miyu’s Sub Skill increases the team’s Crit DMG. Once again, this is another skill that increases her personal damage output as she is guaranteed to crit. However, a core difference from Enhanced Skill is this skill affects the entire party, making it a better choice to raise if you plan to have Miyu (Swimsuit) as a statstick.

Gameplay Progression

Early game: In the early game, Miyu can find usage in content that has Light armored enemies. She is usually brought into the team as an AoE damage dealer with her EX Skill covering a large portion of maps in general content. In addition to this, you will most likely be running multiple damage dealers during this stage of the game, making her Sub Skill a good way to buff the entire team.

Early game alternatives:

Students listed here are only some of the notable options available.

Late game (High Investment): Miyu (Swimsuit) has mainly found usage in Gregorius Torment. However, this is mostly limited to extra teams as she normally falls behind in terms of damage when compared to the other alternatives such as Minori and Yuzu (Maid). Outside of this, she can still find usage in Kaiten P1 as an AoE damage dealer or a Crit DMG statstick with her Sub Skill for other raids.

  • Minimum Required Investment: Unique Equipment 40
  • Skill Leveling Priority: Sub >= Enhanced > Basic

Conclusion

All in all, Miyu is a welcome addition to any player's roster, she has carved out a unique niche for herself by being an AoE Special damage dealer that has guaranteed Crits. This has led her to become a strong option not only for veteran players who need an extra damage dealer for Gregorius, but also for newer players to help them clear general content stages.

How Much Should I Invest?: Since she will be given out for free and is only farmable during this event, we highly recommend farming up until Unique Equipment 40 to unlock the additional Crit DMG on Enhanced+.
