Calling all gacha gamers! What are the most anticipated gacha games in 2024? With the recent launches of Atelier Resleriana, Black Clover M, One Punch Man: World, AFK Journey, and ASTRA: Knights of Veda, the dust is settling, but the excitement is far from over. Many players are already looking ahead to the next wave of enticing gacha games arriving in 2024.

We've scoured the internet to compile a list of the most anticipated gacha games this year. We'll do a little digging into what games have sparked discussions on Reddit, what makes them so highly awaited according to gacha aficionado and YouTuber @Stix (and other sources!), and finally, I'll share my own pick for the upcoming gacha game I'm most eager to try.

Top Gacha Picks from Reddit's Gaming Community

Reddit's passionate gacha community is always buzzing about upcoming titles. According to a recent post on r/gachagaming, two games stand out as the most anticipated in 2024: Azur Promilia and Wuthering Waves (often abbreviated as WuWa).

Pre-registration for Wuthering Waves is getting closer to 20 million!

Wuthering Waves has captured the interest of many, with players hoping it can challenge the dominance of Genshin Impact. Details are still scarce, but the anticipation surrounding its unique world and story is undeniable.

Azur Promilia has generated excitement with its stunning visuals, smooth combat, and innovative gameplay. Combining elements of Genshin Impact and Palworld, it allows players to collect cute creatures and farm alongside their waifus. This unique blend has piqued the interest of many gacha enthusiasts. Let's just avoid discussing the mini drama about the game not featuring any husbandos for now.

While WuWa and Azur Promilia dominated the discussion, other games garnered dedicated followings. Arknights: Endfield, Girls' Frontline 2, Zenless Zone Zero, and Sword of Convallaria are all eagerly awaited by their respective fanbases as they inch closer to their global releases.

If I had to pick a single gacha game that I am anticipating more than any other, it would have to be Azure Promilia. After seeing the release trailer for it I could not be any more excited.

It looks absolutely beautiful aesthetically, it has some great looking action combat, tons of incredible looking waifus, creature collection and a type of casual content that hasn't really been done before in the gacha genre; and that is in the form of a type of farming system where you can technically put your little ‘for lack of a better word’ pals to work just like you would in Palworld. Palworld really went a ways to show us what a little bit of passion and Innovation can do and it is great to see other Studios taking a few risks and delivering us something unique and exciting.

Now I'm very excited for every single gacha mentioned in the intro just not to the same extent, and that is because Azure Promilia offers a diverse selection of content that isn't just explore a large world and grind gear that most gotcha games since the release of Genshin seem to prioritize.

Personal Picks: Wuthering Waves & Sword of Convallaria

For months, I've been following the development of both Wuthering Waves and Sword of Convallaria, and I'm truly excited about their potential.

Wuthering Waves: This game has me particularly hyped. Having participated in previous closed beta tests (CBTs), I'm impressed with the current direction. The developers seem to be on the right track for a successful global release in May 2024. I can't wait to see if it can challenge Genshin Impact's dominance!

Sword of Convallaria: This title evokes memories of playing Final Fantasy Tactics, Tactics Advance, and Tactics Ogre. The crisp and beautiful neo-pixel art is a real treat, and the demo blew me away. While it's a niche turn-based tactics/strategy genre, I don't expect it to dethrone Genshin Impact. However, I believe it has the potential to be a hit among fans of tactical gameplay.

Conclusion

With the hype for upcoming gacha games reaching a fever pitch, we've explored some of the most anticipated titles based on Reddit discussions, Stix's insights (and his friends!), and my own picks. As we've seen, the anticipation for games like Wuthering Waves and Azur Promilia is immense, with the potential to shake up the established order [will these games be the Genshin Killer?]. Additionally, niche titles like Sword of Convallaria cater to specific player preferences, ensuring there's something for everyone.
