Imaginarium Theater Season 5 Guide
When you first start the challenge, you can see the reaction level at the top. By picking up the Brilliant Blessings event, you can choose to upgrade the reactions provided. Of course, the reactions are randomized so you can't upgrade every reaction willy-nilly.
This is an example of a Brilliant Blessing event. You can use 60 Fantasia Flowers to upgrade a reaction. Don't underestimate it because these reactions will save your day, especially against bosses!
Act 1 - 3 | Jadeplume Terrorshroom
In Act 1 and 2, you will get 6 Starting Characters. The first boss you'll encounter is Jadeplume Terrorshroom and it's best if you'll fight it in the Activated state (requires Electro character). That's why among the 3 buffs, it's recommended to choose and upgrade one Electro-related Blessing (Overload or Catalyze). The reason why will be explained in Act 3 later.
In other words, in the first 2 acts, select the Brilliant Blessing event that will upgrade that reaction. You can Refresh Events on the bottom right if you don't get any Brilliant Blessing events. After that, choose a Companion event for some new characters.
Now that you upgrade reactions and choose more characters, pick a Battle. To get the Star, you only need to defeat the enemy within the time limit. But remember that the Star is just for flexing and doesn't affect rewards.
When choosing any Battle, READ the performance and opponents' details and check whether your team have the synergy to fight the battle. The more Fantasia Flowers you get, the better since you can get more characters/buffs from the events.
Now for the battle themselves, make sure to save the best characters (the characters for the reactions you've been upgrading) for the 1st boss battle and use other characters first.
1 | Select a reaction you want to be using the most when facing the boss in Act 3 (Overload or Catalyze) is the most recommended against Jadeplume Terrorshroom Upgrade said reactions when you have the events. |
2 | Spend the remaining Fantasia Flowers on Companion event so you'll more characters in the roster. |
3 | Save the Main DPS (preferably Pyro character) and Support/Sub-DPS at least 1 Vigor for the boss battle in Act 3 |
Now for Act 3, you will be facing Jadeplume Terrorshroom. Bring along the Main DPS and Support you have been saving for. In my case, the main DPS is Tighnari with lots of help from Fischl and Yae Miko for the Catalyze/Quicken reactions.
During the boss fight, you can see the Fury bar under its HP bar. You can fill the Fury bar by attacking it with Electro attacks. Once the bar is filled, the boss will enter the Activated state.
When Jadeplume is in an Activated state, it has different attack modes but will eventually be paralyzed from exhaustion for 15 seconds and lose 25% RES to all DMG types.
Once it's exhausted and paralyzed, unleash everything you have before it can recover. Best if you can defeat them in this one round. But if it recovers back, just do the same as before, fill the Fury bar, wait until it's paralyzed, and spam attacks.
Act 4 - 6 | Thunder Manifestation
Now starting in Act 4 and Act 5, you need to think about who's the best character and team for boss battle in Act 6 (you'll be facing Thunder Manifestation). Thunder Manifestation have a constant Electro state so you can inflict Overload or Quicken super easily.
You can also start upgrading other reactions if you see fit. If you have already completed leveling one reaction to the max, I recommend leveling others now.
In Act 4, there is only a Monolith Defense battle like the one in Spiral Abyss. There is no Anemo character so you'll have a hard time gathering them in one spot. Choose the challenge wisely!
I want to remind you that there is one easy Monolith Defense stage where the enemies are the Ruin Guards. In addition, only one Ruin Guard will spawn at a time so if you don't have any Anemo CC, you can bring a single-target DPS to deal with the enemy. Try to refresh the Act a few times until you see Ruin Guard as the sole enemy in Act 4 (Unfortunately I didn't get this stage so I can't show it).
1 | Choose Companion event until you have that one Main DPS for boss battle Thunder Manifestation. |
2 | If you already have the DPS you want, spend Fantasia Flowers for either more characters or upgrade other reactions you want. |
3 | Save the Main DPS and Support/Sub-DPS at least 1 Vigor for the boss battle in Act 6 |
In Act 6 - the boss battle - you'll be facing the Thunder Manifestation. You should've upgraded the reactions you want to use for this battle since Act 4 (or Act 1 if you're using the same reaction). As mentioned before, Thunder Manifestation is in constant Electro state so bring along Pyro or Dendro DPS so they can trigger reactions easily (and Blessings).
This thing floats. So your melee characters may have a hard time hitting it, but it's not impossible. There will be a medium window duration where Thunder Manifestation floats near the ground which your melee characters can still reach. You should save all your Bursts before that to spam it during this window.
In all honesty, its attacks are easy to avoid, especially if you have one shield provider in the team. Some of the attacks that you need to watch out for more are the Wall of Lightning and the Dive Bombs (not official name) as they deal the most damage to your character.
- For the Wall of Lightning, you don't have to run parallel to the walls or try to outrun those walls. Instead, dash through the wall when it gets close to you (you won't take any damage since you gain I-frame if you time it correctly). This way, you can stay close to Thunder Manifestation and continue to deal damage until the last second the wall is near you.
Whenever the boss is at the edge of the arena, try to save your Burst and just use your Skills (or anything that has a short cooldown). This is because the Thunder Manifestation will most likely teleport back to the center of the arena in a few seconds to restart its attack cycles.
If you bring any teams that can create Bloom, remember that if Thunder Manifestation manages to attack the Bloom, the Hyperbloom will attack YOU instead of the boss. So if you bring a Hyperbloom team, make sure you're the first one to trigger the Hyperbloom reaction.
Act 7 - 8 | Ruin Serpent
In Act 7, get your team ready for Act 8 - the Ruin Serpent. For this boss, it's best if you have Raiden Shogun or Xingqiu so they can take it down when it's charging for Ultimate. So, look for the Companion event, and you can also try for the Mystery Caches event to get some of your previous characters (with 0 Vigor) back.
For the battle (Act 7) itself, it's a normal combat battle and there's no special mechanic so just choose any Battle you deem is best for your current roster.
1 | Select Companion event to get character for Ruin Serpent enemy. |
2 | Upgrade any reaction you want since any of them is okay with Ruin Serpent. |
3 | Save the Main DPS and Support/Sub-DPS at least 1 Vigor for the boss battle in Act 8. |
Now for the worst boss fight. Not only its attack patterns are RNG (which is normal for a boss), but what's not is how it always burrows underground. I suggest you use only Skills in the meantime, and save your Burst until it uses its Ultimate attack when you can paralyze it.
Now for its Ultimate attack. After 3-5 attacks from Ruin Serpent, there will be instances where the Serpent uses a Bomb Barrage attack (unofficial name) where it spins around a ball while exposing its weak points. It has 4 weak points that you need to hit before you can paralyze it. Yes, it's a lot.
The best F2P character to deal with the weak point is Xingqiu, but only if you time it perfectly. Once it starts spinning and your Xingqiu is right in front of it, use his Skill and you have a high chance to hit 2 of the weak points. Then, use his Burst to hit the remaining 2 weak points.
If you're not experienced enough, it might be hard to pull Xingqiu's move above + the boss is just too quick in spinning, so we're going to the next option: Raiden Shogun (since many people may have her). Unleash her Skill when the boss starts spinning to hit 2 weak points. Then, continue hitting it so her Skill can continue doing AoE Electro DMG (even when the weak point is above your character's range) and hit the remaining weak points.
The last tip I can give is to use AoE attacks (Bursts) like Keqing, Alhaitham, etc. so they can deal numerous damage while also destroying the weak points.
Once all 4 weak points are destroyed, the Ruin Serpent will be temporarily paralyzed but only for around ~10 seconds only (which is pretty bad because it's so short).
Act 9 - 10 | Icewind Suite: Nemesis of Coppelius
In Act 9, focus on creating the best team for Act 10. This is because the boss in the last stage - Coppelius - often creates a Cryo shield. The best character here is one Ousia character (one Arkhe attack can destroy the shield) or two Pyro characters so you can melt that shield.
Once you create a team for Act 10, use the remaining character to form a team in Act 9. If you don't have a great synergy among the remaining characters, try using the Companion event for a chance of getting a better character. If you have enough characters already, then use the remaining Fantasia Flowers for buffs.
For Act 9, remember that you need to defeat the Bounty opponent, and not target all enemies! If you defeat the mobs and not the Bounty opponent, you would get nothing except wasting your time so look at the Opposing Lineup first and remember who's the Bounty opponent is. During the battle, the Bounty opponent will be marked with an exclamation icon on top of their head but I don't think anyone would be looking for that.
1 | Create the team for Act 10 beforehand. Then, use the leftover characters for Act 9. |
2 | If you don't have the right DPS for Act 9, use Companion event to try and get a better character. |
3 | Once you have the right Main DPS (and team) for both Act 9 and 10, use the remaining Fantasia Flowers on Blessing event to upgrade reactions that you want to focus on in Act 10 (if the said reaction is not at Level 4 yet). |
Now for Coppelius, all of its attacks are a combination of Anemo and Cryo DMG, and you should be able to avoid them like usual in the open world or tank them with a shield. The one you need to focus on is the Coppelius's Climax. Coppelia and Coppelius will move to the center of the arena and initiate Climax: Create 3 Retributive Frosthearts that will periodically unleash blasts, dealing Cryo DMG. Those Frosthearts can't be destroyed so ignore it and focus on the Coppelius.
During the Climax, Coppelius will gain a Cryo shield. The shield can be damaged normally using Elemental Reactions (weakest to Pyro), but will also immediately break upon being hit by an Ousia attack. Hitting Coppelius with 3 Ousia attacks during a single Climax will interrupt the Climax and stun them for a short period of time.
