Stride on Rainbows, Split the Waves is a stand-alone quest with a pretty decent duration. All you have to do is find Lonko to start the quest and you can do everything yourself.

How to Start Stride on Rainbows, Split the Waves Quest

Teleport to a waypoint far southeast of "People of the Springs" and go to the shore on the west to find Lonko. The quest will start with you helping Lonko chase the Flowcurrent Birds away.

You can either use Mualani or the Koholasaurus here to complete the entire quest. Let's assume you use Koholasaurus because not everyone has Mualani. There are 6 birds here so just jump and attack the bird to shoo them off.

For the next task, you need to collect all the Pyro particles.

Shiny Shell Location #1

After you complete the challenge and talk to Lonko, he will give you 1 Shiny Shell. You need to have 3 Shiny Shells to progress the quest and the other 2 area also in this area.

The second one is just on top of the surfing board.

For the last, climb the hill on that island to the top and you will see a big rock. There's also a Shiny Shell there so pick it up and you got all of them now. Place all 3 Shiny Shells on the big rock to continue the quest.

Talk to Lonko and fast-forward the in-game time to the next day to continue with the task. This is the last one and all you have to do is to complete the Spiritway test. Then you will complete the quest while also getting the The Light on the Lake achievement.
