Dungeons Guide

What are Dungeons and why you should be doing them in Warcraft Rumble!

Warcraft Rumble offers an enjoyable mobile gaming experience with multiple game modes to conquer and a huge amount of Minis to be added to your collection. As more and more players are jumping into action and testing out their skills, trying to master the board, the true meaning of joyful chaos is quickly becoming clear to them.

In this article you will learn about one extremely important game mode that is closely tied to your progression through the game: Dungeons.

How to Gain Access to Dungeons

Dungeons are unlocked once you have collected 30 Sigils. You are rewarded with 1 Sigil for each boss you defeat in the campaign zones.

Upon unlocking, dungeons can be accessed through the Events page which you can find at the bottom of your screen, or by tapping the green Colosseum-like area on the map.

Dungeons are a free to enter single player feature, meaning you can challenge them as much as you’d like, but you have to do so on your own!

Dungeon Structure

Full dungeon run consists of three different maps and to be able to fully conquer the dungeon – and to claim all the rewards – you will have to beat all three levels. If you suffer a defeat, you have to start the dungeon over from scratch, unless you have Ankhs of Resurrection (tokens which I will cover in the rewards section of this article), in your possession

Dungeons start at difficulty level 5 and each time you complete them, the level will go up by one until leader Army Slots are maxed. More about Army Slots in the rewards section as well. In case your leader is overleveled compared to the dungeon level, completing the dungeon once will count as up to 3 levels completed at once. You will also be rewarded for all the three clears, so this is a feature that will save you some time by allowing you to skip the easy dungeon difficulty levels while still earning full rewards.

Dungeon Structure #1

The dungeon maps work in a way that is similar to your campaign maps as well: defeat the boss at the end of the map to claim Victory.

Before starting each map, you will be given the option to choose one of the three Relics presented to you. These Relics give powerful upgrades or gimmicks for your army, and you should think carefully which Relic to choose. For example, a Relic that will give your leader +1 level every time you play it is most likely going to be a strong boost for your deck.

You can only choose one of the three available Relics for you. Tap each of them to learn more about what they do before tapping select to continue with preferred Relic

The rewards for completing a dungeon help you strengthen your decks and are thus too important to be overlooked, so your goal every week should be completing the currently available dungeon as many times as you can!

Rotation Schedule

Dungeons rotate on a weekly basis, and each week a certain Faction will be featured. You can only enter the dungeon with a leader from the currently featured Faction. You are however free to use troops from any Faction in your leader’s army. Once the rotation cycle is complete, it will again start over from the first Faction.

The weekly rotation order is following:

Rotation Schedule - Alliance → Horde → Blackrock → Undead → Beast
Alliance → Horde → Blackrock → Undead → Beast

As only one Faction is available for Dungeons on any given week, make sure to check and complete dungeons every week in order to claim the rewards for every leader!

How to Clear Dungeons Effectively

Each dungeon on rotation has different layouts and mechanics that will require you to adapt and build different types of decks for. One of the most important parts is to choose your Relics in a way that they will work in synergy with the deck you are currently using.

Furthermore, before hitting that Start button, make sure to study the board layout and remember you can tap any enemy unit or boss to learn more about them, allowing you to create a strategy that will help you triumph over them.

Check out the individual dungeon guides for each Faction rotation at DotGG network guides section for tips on how to beat each level and what kind of tactics you should use to be able to claim the juicy rewards for both you and your leaders!

Rewards

You gain rewards for completing each of the three maps featured in the dungeon. The first and second maps will reward you with Arclight Energy and 1 Ankh of Resurrection. Completing the third – and final – map will reward you with Arclight Energy and Army Upgrade.

In order to maximize Arclight Energy gain and Army Upgrades, it is recommended to complete the dungeon with each leader of the currently featured Faction as many times as you can. Since the dungeon gets more difficult with each completion, you will most likely hit a wall at some point. After doing so, keep on upgrading your units while waiting for that Faction to be featured in dungeons again and then continue grinding the rewards for each of your leaders of that Faction!

Arclight Energy

Each dungeon level rewards you with some Arclight Energy upon completion. Arclight Energy is required to upgrade the rarity of Minis and to reroll Army Upgrades, and completing Dungeons is a reliable source for acquiring this precious resource.

Ankh of Resurrection

These are tokens that basically allow you to continue the dungeon after suffering a defeat. So instead of having to start over from scratch, you will spend 1 Ankh of Resurrection and are able to re-try the map you got defeated on. You will gain these as rewards from the first and second map and after fully completing the whole dungeon, any unused Ankhs of Resurrection will be removed from your possession.

Army Upgrades

This reward is the final and the single most important thing about dungeons and why they are so important to be done. Once you beat the third map and fully complete the dungeon, you will be awarded Army Upgrades for your deck slots for the leader you completed the dungeon with. These are permanent upgrades to the leader's army!

What are Army Upgrades?

When looking at your deck in your Army page, you can see these small icons on top of the slots where you place the Minis for your deck. These traits will give bonus levels for certain types of units when they are placed in that slot (ranging from +1 to +3 bonus levels depending on the level of that upgrade, they go Bronze Silver Gold). Tap the icon to see what the trait actually is, for example for , the first Mini slot has Blackrock bonus trait, which means you have to place a Mini from the Blackrock Faction into that slot in order to activate that bonus.

For example, placing level 13 into that slot will make your to actually be level 14 (13 +1) when used in that deck. And if the slot is fully upgraded to gold, the level of the would actually be 13 + 3 = 16. It is clear these upgrades are very powerful boosts to your army and should be utilized to full extent.

What are Army Upgrades?

If the unit is viable for the upgrade, the trait will say "active", and if the unit does not match the trait type, it will say "unmatched". Make sure to place the Minis in your build in a way that they will get a boost from these upgrades, if possible.

You can reroll the bottom three slot upgrades by tapping the ”Army Upgrades” button below your deck in case you have chosen wrong types of upgrades for your army. The top three slot upgrades for each leader are static and can only be upgraded but not rerolled.

Army Upgrades From Dungeon

For each fully completed dungeon difficulty level, you will gain one Army Upgrade choice. You get to choose one of the three available options, and they can either level up one of your existing slot upgrades, or unlock a completely new one.

If your leader is overleveled compared to the dungeon level difficulty and you are able to skip +3 dungeon levels at once, you will be awarded with three of these choices upon completing that dungeon, allowing you to quickly boost your army power.

Choose one of the three available options. In this case all slots are already full and the next choice will upgrade an existing Army Upgrade to next tier

I would recommend picking the leader upgrade first if that is available for you to choose from. After that keep unlocking new upgrades for the bottom slots of your deck, but make sure to select correct types of upgrades that will benefit the Minis you use in your build. You can use the Minis collection database on DotGG to quickly gain information about each different unit.

Conclusion

Offering permanent boosts for your decks, dungeons are definitely worth investing your time in. Completing them also counts towards your daily reward tomes, so you can gain full benefit from both aspects at once even if you have limited time to play for that day!
