Own damage analysis

To start with Levia has beastly offensive stats. This is unsurprising given that, lore-wise, Levia is one of the most powerful magic users.

Levia base M.ATK is very high, at 396. This is much higher than Eclipse (308), Loen (319), Venaka (363) and even Schera (385). Levia also comes with base 75% crit damage, which is higher than the average 50%.

Like GC.Rafina, TF.Levia's damage amplification applies after the initial hit. Therefore at +5 full potential, Levia's effective multiplier against AOE targets is as follows:

  • First hit: 90%
  • Second hit: 90% x 2 x 1.1 = 198%
  • Third hit: 90% x 2 x 1.2 = 216%
  • Fourth hit: 90% x 2 x 1.3 = 234%
  • TOTAL: 738%

Against the main target:

  • First hit: 90%
  • Second hit: 90% x 2.2 x 1.1 = 217.8%
  • Third hit: 90% x 2.2 x 1.2 = 237.6%
  • Fourth hit: 90% x 2.2 x 1.3 = 257.4%
  • TOTAL: 802.8%

When paired with Levia's high base stats, this is very high damage, especially for a 3x3 AOE attacker.

Levia as a damage buffer

Levia is now a "must-have" for magic teams, because her debuff is one of the most effective ways to increase magic team damage. The damage amplification applies to total damage, so it multiplies the power of all other kinds of buffs.

As at the time of her release, Levia's magic damage amplification buff is the only one of its kind.

Levia is great for all PVE game modes where max damage is required, including the upcoming fiend hunt. However, Levia is not very good for Last Night, because her damage amplification skill does not work in this game mode.

Levia for PVP

Levia is useable in PVP, but not currently recommended.

In PVP, M.RES reduction is far more valuable than damage amplification, since your opponents will often be geared to 90% M.RES. There are few reasons to run Levia over strong magic attackers like NB.Eclipse and DJ.Venaka, who both cost only 3 SP and have M.RES shred.

In addition, since TF.Levia's cooldown is 5 turns is unlikely to be used much in PVP until she gets a second costume.

Conclusion

As one of the "Dominus Octo" from Brown Dust 1, Levia was always destined to be a powerful character. The devs did not disappoint.

Levia is a great investment and a high priority pull. +4 is required for max buff, +5 for full damage. A minimum of 2 Tears is required to unlock the +20% damage amplification bonus.
