Strengths and Weaknesses

New Hire's damage buff is perfect for longer content with enemies that hit a lot.
Seir's damage reduction and healing makes her practically immune to regular damage and makes shred effects negligible against her.
Seir has the cheapest taunt in the game.

Seir's damage reduction folds to fixed and pure damage. This can be mitigated by B-Rank Idol's energy guard.
[PvP] Seir is not as good as other tanks because she has no elemental resistance while also being vulnerable to Justia.

Costumes

Seir currently has three costumes, each of which trigger effects when Seir is hit. Demon's Daughter heals her, B-Rank Idol grants SP, while New Hire grants a stackable DMG buff. Her first two costumes also have damage reduction effects.

Costume Designs

Demon's Daughter is recruitable in the pub's rotating pool, and in Infinite Reroll.

This costume gives Seir a hefty damage reduction buff. At +0, the 40% reduction nearly doubles her health, but once she's upgraded, she can nearly multiply her health effectively ten-fold (with a total of 85% damage reduction). Damage reduction stacks multiplicatively with DEF and MRES, so Seir will pretty much be taking double digit damage at this point. More importantly, this damage reduction protects Seir from DEF and MRES shredding enemies that can still kill your units with 90 RES.

This skill also gives Seir the ability to heal herself whenever she gets hit. When compounded with the damage reduction, Seir is pretty much invincible so long as she doesn't get one shot (for example, by fixed or pure damage).

In terms of upgrades, the most important one is skill potential 3, which gives Seir the ability to taunt enemies. This is important for protecting her allies, as well as enabling her to trigger her other skills' effects. The SP upgrades can reduce her skill cost to 2 SP, making it the cheapest taunt in the game. The DMG Reduction is busted at 85%, but 65% should be comfortable enough for her (+1 with Skill Potential 2).

At +5, Seir gets an upgrade to her heal multiplier and her buff duration. However, heals crit in this game, so 15% is already more than enough considering her damage reduction, and the buff duration increase doesn't apply to her taunt. So, while it's nice to have, B-Rank Idol can cover the gap to make her damage reduction full uptime.

Key Upgrades: Skill Potential 3, SP Upgrades, Damage Reduction upgrades scale really well.

B-Rank Idol also gives Seir 40%-85% damage reduction, so the points about it in Demon's Daughter also apply here.

Besides that, this skill is pretty niche. It competes with her other skills which are more important, and SP generation isn't really necessary in a lot of content. The best use case of this effect is to mitigate enemies that drain SP, and that's if you can't kill those enemies for some reason.

On the other hand, the energy guard from skill potential 3 can mitigate one of Seir's weaknesses, which is her vulnerability to fixed and pure damage. Up to extra 20,000 HP can help her survive these hits.

Key Upgrades: Skill Potential 3, Damage Reduction scales really well.

Costume Designs

This is Seir's most important costume, being the only one that directly contributes to the damage of your team. Seir is for the most part not worth building if you do not have this costume.

The buff being stackable means that Seir is a great buffer in longer content, where the enemy attacks with a lot of hits. Fiend Hunt and Guild Raids being the prime examples. Comparing her to units that apply vulnerability, Seir becomes a great buffer after getting hit at least 5 times (7 times if she's +2). After that, the sky's the limit with her.

Do keep in mind that Seir does not want to be dispelled, or she'll lose her ability to grant buffs.

Key Upgrades: All skill potentials, DMG Buff upgrades add up.

Building Seir

You'll need to build Seir defensively if you want her to be able to take hits to buff the team.

Either Demon's Daughter or B-Rank Idol are great for Seir, since their stats are fully defensive. However, do keep in mind that some of Demon's Daughter's DEF bonds are locked behind a tear upgrade.
