Hello. This is Jun-hee Lee, the Executive Producer of Brown Dust 2.
Did you enjoy watching the live broadcast?
Today, I'll do my best to summarize what was discussed in the broadcast for those who couldn't join
as well as go into detail about things not discussed in live.
New Summer Event Pack, Beachside Angels
The new Summer Event Pack, Beachside Angels will be updated.
Beachside Angels takes place on the beach not far from
Hotel Aniweiss, where the last year's event pack, Summer Knight took place.
Story
Teresse and Scheherazade are at the beach to enter a bikini contest.
However, a group called the Modesty Corps is actively monitoring people's skin exposure on the beach.
The bikini contest is at risk of being canceled because of them.
Beachside Angels tells the story of their struggle against the unreasonable regulations of the Modesty Corps
as they fight to protect the bikini contest and the freedom to reveal clothing as one pleases.
Featured Characters
In Beachside Angels, you'll join Teresse and Scheherazade along with Justia and Angelica from Summer Knight,
as well as the bikini contest host, Venaka—five characters in total.
Additionally, in this event pack, you'll be able to see the charming appearances of various supporting characters.
Beachside Angels will be available for four weeks from August 14th until the next update on September 12th.
New Season Event CLICK! CLICK! SUMMER
Click! Click! Summer is a season event that'll take place on the same beach as Beachside Angels.
This story revolves around the two rival actresses, Eclipse and Morpeah
who end up on vacation at the same beach by coincidence.
Forced to act friendly in front of their fans, the two actresses
end up having a photo of them arguing taken,
leading them to form an awkward temporary alliance to catch the paparazzi.
Morpeah will be the first Apostle to be added as a new character.
New Fiend Hunter Boss: Crab Mother
Click! Click! Summer's Fiend Hunter Boss will be the Crab Mother, a formidable monster hidden beneath a colorful shell.
The Crab Mother is a gigantic, monstrous mother crab that suddenly appears from the sea,
spewing deadly bubbles while fiercely protecting its young.
You can find out why Crab Mother appears on the beach in the event story.
New Character & Costume
Next, we have four new swimsuit costumes that many of you have been eagerly waiting for.
All of these are part of the skill cutscenes, but since most of the screen is filled with skin,
it's a bit tricky to describe the design...
Anyway, let's focus and introduce them one by one, starting from the left with Teresse.
Beachside Angel Teresse
Actually, this swimsuit belongs to Schera, not Teresse.
Teresse's swimsuit wasn't ready, so she's wearing Schera's smaller bikini.
Her skill concept is designed to be a buffer, similar to the Medical Club costume,
but she will appear with a different type of buff compared to the Medical Club costume.
Beachside Justice Michaela
Next, we have Michaela who awakens to a new preference in Beachside Angels.
You can find out what this new preference is in the story, so please look forward to it.
Michaela will be the second Light type Magic Dealer to be added after Angelica.
Beach Vacation Morpeah
So we've introduced Morpeah as a top actress.
She's a character with immense pride as a screen villain specialist,
and she has the fairest skin among all the Brown Dust 2 characters.
Morpeah has a somewhat unique battle concept compared to the other characters.
While the detailed information will be available in a future update notice,
I'll give you a hint: it's related to the concept she had as an enemy.
Beach Vacation Eclipse
Like Morpeah, Eclipse is also a top actress.
While Morpeah specializes in villain roles, Eclipse specializes in heroine roles.
She has the concept of a queen of romance as a leading actress in good roles.
We started with a bold concept of a slingshot bikini for her design.
While the standing illustration you see on screen is great, please also look forward to the skill cutscene that Origami has, once again, put his career on the line for.
Eclipse's swimsuit costume will be added as a Darkness type Magic Dealer.
Among the four new swimsuit costumes, only Teresse's will be a limited costume
and the others will be regular costumes.
Although they are regular costumes, we have put in as much effort into the skill cutscenes as we would for limited costumes, so please look forward to it.
To give more players a chance to get swimsuit costumes, the pickup will run for 3 weeks.
Since 8/15 (Thu) is a holiday in Korea, the pickup will start on 8/14 (Wed).

Tower of Salvation Improvements
The Development Team is thoroughly reviewing all of your valuable feedback on the Tower of Salvation.
In the process of incorporating roguelike elements into Brown Dust 2,
we focused more on the fun of random elements and providing endless activities
but forgot to consider fatigue and convenience.
We'll refine the content to be more enjoyable and in-depth based on your feedback.
Here are the improvements scheduled for August:
Retry Support
Due to the nature of roguelike elements, we considered limiting retries,
but we figured irreversible mistakes could lead to more stress than fun,
and decided to add the retry function.
The retry function will be available during battles, and using it will return you to the beginning of the current battle.
Quick Battle
Given the many random elements in the Tower of Salvation,
we understand that players feel compelled to use all the daily keys
to earn growth resources, which would make it feel like a chore.
As such, we will add a quick battle function for levels that have already been cleared.
Ranking Calculation Method Change
The contribution ranking was designed as a reward for top players who significantly helped achieve the season's cumulative score,
but the feedback indicated it required too much time to stay at the top. Hence, we'll change the ranking calculation from "cumulative score" to "highest score."
Starting from a Specific Level
We recognize that starting from level 1 each season can be tedious, especially for experienced players,
so we will add a feature that unlocks certain levels based on the highest level cleared in the previous season.
Early Level Difficulty Reduction
To ensure that players with lower character growth or are less familiar with battle and roguelike rules can enjoy the content, we will lower the difficulty of early levels.
Monster Immunity and Balance Adjustments
Monster immunities will be reduced to make the game more balanced and let different costumes and characters shine.
New Artifacts and Balances
We're adding 10 new artifacts to mix up the meta.
Plus, some existing Artifacts will be rebalanced to improve their usefulness.
Main Reward Adjustment
We'll be moving the main reward, "Tear of Goddess" to an earlier level so that more players can obtain it.
Additionally, we are reviewing many aspects such as diversifying META, supporting shop costume upgrades, and improving start costume selection.
We will continue to improve based on the survey feedback.
Next, we'll discuss the upcoming content for the late August update.
Guild Raid
I will now explain the Guild Raid content that we mentioned in our last broadcast.
Guild Raid is a content featuring the colossal war machine, Lancelot.
Lancelot is the pinnacle of magical engineering handed down from ancient times,
created to prepare for the appearance of Lord Fiends on the surface.
After thousands of years, such powerful Fiends began to appear on the surface,
and thus, the Mercenary Guild sets out with Lancelot to defeat these fiends.
The image shows the guild UI that you can see when you join a guild.
You can enter by tapping the Enter Guild Raid button located at the bottom left.
A support character feature has been added to the right of the guild member information.
Each guild member can register up to two support characters,
and in Guild Raid Boss Defense battles, they can use the other guild member's support characters.
You can earn rewards when other guild members use your support characters.
Guild Raid will run for a week.
On days 1-3, you will battle against regular enemies in Invasion Defense, and on days 4-7, you will engage in Boss Defense.
Invasion Defense
Invasion Defense will be available for three days.
Invasion Defense Battles consist of levels ranging from 1 to10,
and each level has a limited number of times it can be cleared.
Guild members can only participate in one battle per day,
so it's important to defeat the enemies for your level.
If you clear a level as many times as it allows,
you can earn EXP for Lancelot.
From days 4-7, you will engage in Boss Defense with the evolved Lancelot.
Successfully defeating the boss will earn you points based on the difficulty level.
The highest daily score will be added to the guild score each day,
and for the next day, you can engage in quick battles for the level you already have cleared.
There are two main types of bosses, with six property types including Water, Fire, Wind, Darkness, Light, and Non-Attribute,
meaning a total of 12 types of bosses will appear in rotation.
Each boss has different stats and specific skills, requiring unique strategies to defeat them.
Particularly, the boss with no property type has more powerful mechanics, so finding the right strategy with your guild members is crucial.
The Boss Defense battle takes place on an expanded 5x5 formation where you can deploy up to 7 characters.
Out of these 7 characters, 2 can be borrowed support characters from guild members,
but you can also deploy all 7 characters from your own collection.
This is the preparation stage for Boss Defense.
During the battle, the boss's skills for the next turn will be displayed at the top right,
and you can check the parts with buffs or debuffs applied in the list at the bottom right.
The Guild Raid bosses use 3 types of skills.
Random skills, which are basic attack skills used randomly each turn.
Conditional skills, which are activated when certain conditions are met. These are similar to those of the Fiend Hunter.
And finally, Overdrive skills.
When the boss's health drops below a certain point, it enters Overdrive state
and the next turn after Overdrive is activated, the boss uses an Overdrive skill.
Overdrive continues, making the boss's random skills even more powerful.
Overdrive skills can significantly increase the damage your allies take, so you need a strategy to prevent it.
Each boss has specific conditions that, when met, can stop the Overdrive skill from being used.
Preventing the boss's Overdrive skill will put the boss in a Break state.
In the Break state, any queued skills are canceled and the boss cannot act.
Also it takes significantly more damage.
Although the Overdrive state is threatening, if you use it wisely,
you can put the boss in Break stage and deal massive damage.
There is another way to trigger the Break state.
Using Lancelot's Participation skill will put the boss in a Break state.
During the battle, Lancelot's Participation gauge increases based on the accumulated chain value of the boss and the allies' received damage.
You can use Lancelot's Participation skill when the gauge reaches 100%.
Lancelot's Participation skill forces the boss into a Break state and deals powerful attacks.
After entering the battle, Lancelot can use 3 different skills.
Strategically use these skills to deliver strong attack to the boss or provide buffs to your allies.
Lancelot becomes inactive 6 turns after it enters battle.
Lancelot's skills are strengthened through the EXP gained in Invasion Defense,
so days 1-3 can be seen as a build-up period to upgrade Lancelot.
Successfully defeating the boss will earn you points based on the difficulty level.
The highest daily score will be added to the guild score each day,
and you can engage in quick battles for the same difficulty level.
The guild ranking is determined by the accumulated guild points.
Guilds in the top N% will have special effects applied to their guild emblem until the end of the next season.
We have also prepared systems to make battles more convenient.
With the expanded formation, we have added a top-view support feature to make it easier to place allies.
You can adjust the placement in the top-view during the Battle Preparation phase.
The top-view feature will also be available for normal battles.
The Guild Raid content is currently undergoing its final adjustments before release.
We're aiming to present it by late August or early September, so please wait a little longer.
Regarding the Guild Raid, considering the fatigue from the co-op content, we plan to run the event for 1 week, followed by 2-3 weeks of rest.
Similar to the Tower of Salvation, it'll be operated as a trial season.
After the update, we'll conduct a survey to gather feedback from the players and make adjustments accordingly.
New Growth: Awakening
Previously, you shared your opinions about additional rank-ups and level ups for characters.
Instead of simply adding more levels, we considered a more enjoyable growth method and prepared the Awakening feature.
When a character reaches the maximum level, they can undergo engraving, and through engraving, different types of abilities can be enhanced for each character.
Once all 3 engravings are unlocked, the character can undergo "Awakening." Awakening significantly enhances stats that match the character's traits.
The growth materials needed for Engraving and Awakening can be purchased in the Guild Shop using resources obtained through Guild Raids, and you'll also be able to obtain them in existing content such as season events.
Because the growth elements significantly impact various content, we will carefully monitor and proceed with the methods and pace of growth.
Expansion of Existing Content: Tower of Desire, Last Night
With the addition of various costumes and growth elements that makes you increasingly stronger,
we plan to make things more challenging by expanding existing content.
First, for the Evil Castle, Tower of Desire will be extended from 100 floors to 150 floors,
and the maximum score for Last Night will also be increased from 100 million to 300 million.
In the Last Night, players can gather materials needed for the new Awakening growth feature.
New Items in Evil Castle Shop
Regarding the Tower of Pride, many players showed a preference for maintaining the current rules rather than changing them.
However, we're aware of the lack of items available for purchase with the Devil Coins earned in the Tower of Pride.
Instead of changing the rules, we plan to add new growth resources to the Evil Castle Shop, thus increasing the currency's utility.
Next is the upcoming updates after September.
Nebris Original Costume Update
Many of you have been eagerly awaiting news about Nebris's original costume, and we are here to share this update with you.
In September, the original costume of Nebris, the representative NPC of the Tower of Salvation, will be updated.
Return of Berserker
Additionally, we plan to bring back Berserker, the boss from the previous collaboration season event.
Berserker will appear with the Wind type just like before,
and the event will run for only one week without a practice period.
The event where Berserker's featured will only last a week,
but the rewards will remain the same as those for two weeks.
*Only Giant Fiend Berserker will be rereleased. Previous collaboration season events will not be returning.
Mirror Wars Fatigue Changes
In the First Anniversary survey, many players suggested reducing the fatigue associated with the Mirror Wars.
The suggestions were to consume a large amount of Blood Cocktails at once and to reduce the recharge amount.
We reviewed the feedback and decided to implement the following changes to reduce fatigue:
- Allow players to select the amount of Blood Cocktails consumed at a time from 1 to10.
- Award Medals of the Fighting Spirit based on the amount of Cocktails consumed.
- Award victory points only once based on the outcome of the battle.
So for example, if you increase the amount of Cocktails consumed from 1 to 10 and win a battle, you will receive 10 times the number of Medals of the Fighting Spirit but only 1 victory point.
Players who want to quickly acquire Medals of the Fighting Spirit can consume more Cocktails to speed up the process
while those who focus on victory points before the weekend deadline can continue to play individual battles as before.
We also considered reducing the recharge amount of Blood Cocktails while increasing the medal rewards by 4 times,
but since this would change the value of existing resources and lead to decrease in the number of battles, we've decided to put the idea on hold, expecting there will be significant impacts on tier changes.
We've reviewed these changes to reduce fatigue without disrupting the experience, so your feedback after the update would be appreciated.
Second Collaboration Notice
We're planning the second collaboration for Brown Dust 2 in the latter half of 2024.
During our last collaboration, we announced it too early and made our players wait for a long time.
However, you won't have to wait as long this time.
We will provide more details in September.
That's all we have prepared for today.
It feels like just yesterday we were preparing for the First Anniversary update, and now, we're heading towards the second half of the year.
Starting with the collaboration in May, many updates have been made up until August.
Despite many shortcomings, we're always grateful for the encouragement and support from our players.
Based on the love and attention you showed during this First Anniversary,
the Development Team will do its best to provide richer and higher-quality content.
Now, let's say goodbye for today with some gifts.
