Resource Location Guide
Here's a quick guide to where you can find the most common consumable resources:
Item | Use | Location |
Gold | Levelling up units Upgrading and refining gears Purchasing ability pills Note: gear refining is very gold intensive in the late game. You can never have too much gold. | Path of Adventure (recommended, uses Cooked Rice) Daily dispatch ability Last Night rewards Story mode battles and Gluttis Golden Thread Shop |
Slimes | Levelling up units Note: Prioritize farming slimes in the early game. Once you have your main team members at max level, switch to prioritizing gold farming. | Story mode battles Path of Adventure (recommended, uses Cooked Rice) |
Ability Pills | Used for all field abilities (e.g. Cooking, Search, etc). Alchemy and Gear Crafting cost a lot of ability pills. | Purchase from any story mode shop (Preferably after completing a daily quest for 10% discount) Sylvia's Bargain does not work on Ability Pill prices. |
Ability Books | Levelling up field abilities Note: Prioritize levelling up Dispatch (Olstein and Diana), Alchemy (Schera) and Gear Crafting (Layla). Levelling up Search (Lathel) is convenient to have but not a must. Other than those skills, levelling up other skills are not a priority. You get some free ability books from story mode achievements. | Devil Coin Shop (recommended) Golden Thread Shop |
Rank Up Stars | Levelling up units Note: Level 4 Rank Up Stars are relatively hard to come by for beginners, so consider carefully who you want to use them on when starting out. You'll eventually have a surplus after maxing out your main characters, but it will take several months to get there. You get some free Rank Up Stars (mostly Level 2 and Level 3) from story mode achievements and events. | Mirror Wars Shop Evil Castle Shop Golden Thread Shop Powder of Hope Shop |
3* R. Contracts | Recruiting from the pub (not the gacha banner) Note: It is recommended that you do not recruit 3* units or 4* units in the pub, as you can easily get them to max level anyway. Instead, save them up to recruit 5* units in the pub. In the main shop, 10x 3* contracts can be converted into a 4* contract, and 10x 4* contracts can be converted into a 5* contract. (i.e. 100x 3* contracts = 1x 5* contract) For beginners, this is a rare time-gated currency. However, once you have recruited all of the 5* units from the pub (which will take many months of play), you may start to build up a surplus. | Mirror Wars Shop Evil Castle Shop |
Ancient Crystals | Necessary for UR Gear crafting This is a rare time-gated currency. | Evil Castle clear rewards Evil Castle season rewards Golden Thread Shop Last Night rewards |
Refining powder | Used for refining gear stats after the gear reaches +9. Lowest gear refinement is C C C, highest is S S S. Gear refining costs a lot of refining powder, and you can never have enough. Note: refinements only affect main stats, not sub-stats | Daily quests Dismantling gears Note: you can dismantle in bulk from the inventory menu |
Refining stone Refining crystal | Used for changing gear attributes (other than fixed attributes). Refining stones are for N and R gears. Refining stones are not very useful, because N and R gears are not really worth refining. Refining crystals are for SR and UR gears. Refining crystals can be farmed by dismantling SR gears, but it costs a lot of gold and crafting materials. | Dismantle N and R gears for refining stones. Dismantle SR and UR gears for refining crystals. Refining crystal also available in Mirror Wars shop. |
Elemental Crystals | Used for enhancing a costume's potential. For more information on potential, check out this guide. Elemental Crystals can be found in the Elemental Caves, which are accessed via the Path of Adventure Pack. This is a time-gated currency, because entry to the Elemental Caves costs torches, and you only get 60 free torches per day. There is a different color crystal for each element. Once you have cleared an Elemental Cave in a chosen difficulty, you can auto-farm from the field menu (same as gold and slime farming with cooked rice). | Path of Adventure: Cave of [Element] |
Tear of the Goddess | Used for unlocking skill bonuses via the costume potential system. This is a very rare and time-gated currency. 3 Tears are required to fully unlock the skill potential of a single costume, so they should be used very carefully. | Golden Thread Shop Event shops |
Engraving Scrolls and Essences | Using for Engraving, which slightly increases stats after Lv 100. Scrolls and Essences are rare and time-gated material. | Evil Castle Shop (recommended) Event shops (recommended) Golden Thread Shop Powder of Hope Shop |
Awakening Elixir | Used for Awakening, which is the final stage stat upgrade after Engraving. Awakening Elixir is a very rare and time-gated currency. | Last Night Rewards Guild Shop (recommended) Tower of Salvation seasonal rewards Powder of Hope Shop |
Crafting material - Gold & Copper | Copper is used for crafting many SR gears Gold is used for crafting many UR gears Copper and gold are rarer materials and tend to run out before other materials | Hunting Grounds (Lizardman Altar Very Hard is best) Use Lathel's Search with Celia's Absorption to collect finds daily on Story Chapters 3, 7, and 8. |
Crafting material - Wood | Wood is used for crafting all level gears Wood is a slightly rarer material and tends to run out before other materials | Hunting Grounds (Mountain Keeper's Shelter Very Hard is best) Use Lathel's Search with Celia's Absorption to collect finds daily on Chapter 9. |
