Genshin Impact: Wanderer Quick Character Guide

The Wanderer is a long-range damage dealer who has the ability to fight and move through the air.

He can use his Elemental Skill to leap into the air and enter the Windfavored state, gaining Kuugoryoku. Before exhausting Kuugoryoku, the Wanderer can hover in the air, and when he uses Normal and Charged Attacks, they will be converted into Kuugo: Fushoudan and Kuugo: Toufukai respectively, which deal increased damage over a wider AoE.

The Wanderer's Elemental Burst deals multiple instances of AoE Anemo DMG and can be cast when the character is in the Windfavored state.

This guide is based on the Community Character Builds by the Genshin Helper Team.


Skills Overview

Normal Attack: Yuuban Meigen

Normal Attack
Performs up to 3 attacks using wind blades, dealing Anemo DMG.

Charged Attack
Consumes a certain amount of Stamina, gathers a build up of high wind pressure, and deals AoE Anemo DMG after a short casting time.

Plunging Attack
Calling upon the power of Anemo, the Wanderer plunges towards the ground from mid-air, damaging all opponents in his path. Deals AoE Anemo DMG upon impact with the ground.


Elemental Skill: Hanega: Song of the Wind

Concentrates the power of the winds to break free from the shackles of the earth, dealing AoE Anemo DMG before leaping into the air and entering the Windfavored state.
Cooldown: 6 seconds

Windfavored
The Wanderer will hover persistently during this time. While this state is active, the Wanderer's movements gain the following properties:
Persistently consumes Kuugoryoku Points to maintain this hovering state.
• When sprinting, additional Kuugoryoku Points will be consumed for the Wanderer to accelerate mid-air. Holding sprint will cause persistent Kuugoryoku Point consumption to maintain speed. This effect will replace his default sprint.
• Jumping expends extra Kuugoryoku Points to increase hovering height. Holding jump will cause persistent Kuugoryoku Point consumption to keep increasing hovering height.

The Wanderer cannot perform Plunging Attacks in this state. When he uses Normal and Charged Attacks, they will be converted into Kuugo: Fushoudan and Kuugo: Toufukai respectively; the DMG they deal and their AoE will be increased, and their DMG will be considered Normal and Charged Attack DMG respectively. Kuugo: Toufukai will not consume Stamina.

Running out of Kuugoryoku Points will end the Windfavored state.
A second cast during the duration of Windfavored will also end it.


Elemental Burst: Kyougen: Five Ceremonial Plays

Compresses the atmosphere into a singular vacuum that grinds all troubles away, dealing multiple instances of AoE Anemo DMG. If the character is in the Windfavored state due to the skill "Hanega: Song of the Wind," Windfavored state will end after casting.
Cooldown: 15 seconds
Energy Cost: 60


Ascension 1: Jade-Claimed Flower

If Hanega: Song of the Wind comes into contact with Hydro/Pyro/Cryo/Electro when it is unleashed, this instance of the Windfavored state will obtain buffs according to the contacted element(s):

Hydro: Kuugoryoku Point cap increases by 20.
Pyro: ATK increases by 30%.
Cryo: CRIT Rate increases by 20%.
Electro: When Normal and Charged Attacks hit an opponent, 0.8 Energy will be restored. Energy can be restored this way every 0.2s.
You can have up to 2 different kinds of these buffs simultaneously.


Ascension 4: Gales of Reverie

When the Wanderer hits opponents with Kuugo: Fushoudan or Kuugo: Toufukai in his Windfavored state, he has a 16% chance to obtain the Descent effect: The next time the Wanderer accelerates in mid-air while in this instance of the Windfavored state, this effect will be removed, this acceleration instance will not consume any Kuugoryoku Points, and he will fire off 4 wind arrows that deal 35% of his ATK as Anemo DMG each.
For each Kuugo: Fushoudan and Kuugo: Toufukai that does not produce this effect, the next attack of those types will have a 12% increased chance of producing it. The calculation of the effect production is done once every 0.1s.


Passive Talent: Strum the Swirling Winds

Mora expended when ascending Bows and Catalysts is decreased by 50%.


TLDR / Rotation

Wanderer is a DPS with pretty straightforward rotations. First of all, you need to know about his Burst. As mentioned above, his Burst will end the Windfavored state. That's why, you can use this Burst before using his Skill or after completing his full attack combo.
Extra: If your Wanderer is C2, it's more recommended to use his Burst at the end of the combo.

Now for his main damage output, it's definitely his attack combo. What you need to do is use his Skill to make him enter the Windfavored state. Then, you can use either of these combos:
(1) N2C spam: Normal Attack twice then Charged Attack
(2) N3 spam: Keep spamming Normal Attack
(3) C spam: Keep spamming Charged Attack
The combo above doesn't have that much of a DPS difference (unless you use a specific catalyst or artifact set). So you can use any of your preferred methods based on the team you bring along for Wanderer.


Talent Priorities

Normal Attack > Skill > Burst

If Wanderer is C2, prioritize Burst over Skill


Constellations

Best Constellations: C1, C2 & C6

C1: Shoban: Ostentatious Plumage ⭐
When in the Windfavored state, the Attack SPD of the Wanderer's Kuugo: Fushoudan and Kuugo: Toufukai is increased by 10%.
Additionally, the wind arrows fired by the Passive Talent "Gales of Reverie" will deal an additional 25% of his ATK as DMG. You must unlock the Passive Talent "Gales of Reverie" first.

C2: Niban: Isle Amidst White Waves ⭐
When in the Windfavored state, Kyougen: Five Ceremonial Plays will see its DMG increased by 4% per point of difference between the max amount of Kuugoryoku Points contrasted with Kuugoryoku's present capacity when using this skill.
Through this method, you can increase Kyougen: Five Ceremonial Plays's DMG by a maximum of 200%.

C3: Sanban: Moonflower Kusemai
Increases the Level of Kyougen: Five Ceremonial Plays by 3.
Maximum upgrade level is 15.

C4: Yonban: Set Adrift into Spring
When casting Hanega: Song of the Wind, should the Passive Talent "Jade-Claimed Flower" be triggered, the character will gain buffs in correspondence to the contacted Elemental Type(s), and also obtain a random untriggered buff. A maximum of 3 such corresponding elemental buffs can exist simultaneously.
You must unlock the Passive Talent "Jade-Claimed Flower" first.

C5: Matsuban: Ancient Illuminator From Abroad
Increases the Level of Hanega: Song of the Wind by 3.
Maximum upgrade level is 15.

C6: Shugen: The Curtains' Melancholic Sway ⭐
• When the Wanderer actively hits an opponent with Kuugo: Fushoudan while in the Windfavored state, the following effects will occur:
• Deals an additional instance of Kuugo: Fushoudan at the position hit, dealing 40% of the attack's original DMG. This DMG will be considered Normal Attack DMG.
When the Wanderer falls below 40 Kuugoryoku Points, restores 4 Points to him. Kuugoryoku Points can be restored in this manner once every 0.2s. This restoration can occur up to 5 times within one Windfavored duration.

1) Tullaytullah's Remembrance (ATK: 674 • Crit DMG: 44.1%)

Normal Attack SPD is increased by 10/12.5/15/17.5/20%. After the wielder unleashes an Elemental Skill, Normal Attack DMG will increase by 4.8/6/7.2/8.4/9.6% every second for 14s. After this character hits an opponent with a Normal Attack during this duration, Normal Attack DMG will be increased by 9.6/12/14.4/16.8/19.2%. This increase can be triggered once every 0.3s. The maximum Normal Attack DMG increase per single duration of the overall effect is 48/60/72/84/96%. The effect will be removed when the wielder leaves the field, and using the Elemental Skill again will reset all DMG buffs.

2) Cashflow Supervision (ATK: 674 • Crit Rate: 22.1%)

ATK is increased by 16/20/24/28/32%. When current HP increases or decreases, Normal Attack DMG will be increased by 16/20/24/28/32% and Charged Attack DMG will be increased by 14/17.5/21/24.5/28% for 4s. Max 3 stacks. This effect can be triggered once every 0.3s. When the wielder has 3 stacks, ATK SPD will be increased by 8/10/12/14/16%.

3) Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds (ATK: 608 • Crit Rate: 33.1%)

Increases Movement SPD by 10%. When in battle, gain an 8/10/12/14/16% Elemental DMG Bonus every 4s. Max 4 stacks. Lasts until the character falls or leaves combat.

4) The Widsith (ATK: 510 • Crit DMG: 55.1%)

When a character takes the field, they will gain a random theme song for 10s. This can only occur once every 30s.
Recitative: ATK is increased by 60/75/90/105/120%.
Aria: Increases all Elemental DMG by 48/60/72/84/96%.
Interlude: Elemental Mastery is increased by 240/300/360/420/480.
Note: Because Wanderer doesn't focus on Swirl damage, this weapon can be inconsistent if you get the EM buff.

5) Kagura's Verity (ATK: 608 • Crit DMG: 66.2%)

Gains the Kagura Dance effect when using an Elemental Skill, causing the Elemental Skill DMG of the character wielding this weapon to increase by 12/15/18/21/24% for 16s. Max 3 stacks. This character will gain 12/15/18/21/24% All Elemental DMG Bonus when they possess 3 stacks.

6) Solar Pearl (ATK: 510 • Crit Rate: 27.6%)

Normal Attack hits increase Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst DMG by 20/25/30/35/40% for 6s. Likewise, Elemental Skill or Elemental Burst hits increase Normal Attack DMG by 20/25/30/35/40% for 6s.

7) Ballad of the Boundless Blue (ATK: 565 • Energy Recharge: 30.6%)

Within 6s after Normal or Charged Attacks hit an opponent, Normal Attack DMG will be increased by 8/10/12/14/16% and Charged Attack DMG will be increased by 6/7.5/9/10.5/12%. Max 3 stacks. This effect can be triggered once every 0.3s.

8) Blackcliff Agate (ATK: 510 • Crit DMG: 55.1%)

After defeating an opponent, ATK is increased by 12/15/18/21/24% for 30s. This effect has a maximum of 3 stacks, and the duration of each stack is independent of the others.

9) Mappa Mare (ATK: 565 • Elemental Mastery: 110)

Triggering an Elemental reaction grants a 8/10/12/14/16% Elemental DMG Bonus for 10s. Max 2 stacks.

Memory of Dust: This weapon can pull farther ahead than other options if Wanderer is shielded. If shielded, it maintains its ranking without Bennett, and performs better than The Widsith with Bennett.
Dodoco Tales [R5]: This weapon uses a different rotation of E N1 CAx6 N1 CAx6 to maximize its passive.

2 Piece: Anemo DMG Bonus +15%.
4 Piece: When Charged Attacks hit opponents, the equipping character's Normal Attack SPD will increase by 10% while Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attack DMG will increase by 40% for 15s.

2) Shimenawa’s Reminiscence

2 Piece: ATK +18%
4 Piece: When casting an Elemental Skill, if the character has 15 or more Energy, they lose 15 Energy and Normal/Charged/Plunging Attack DMG is increased by 50% for 10s. This effect will not trigger again during that duration.
Note: If Wanderer is C2 or higher it is not recomended to run this set.

3) Marechaussee Hunter

2 Piece: Normal and Charged Attack DMG +15%.
4 Piece: When current HP increases or decreases, CRIT Rate will be increased by 12% for 5s. Max 3 stacks.

4) Echoes of an Offering

2 Piece: ATK +18%.
4 Piece: When Normal Attacks hit opponents, there is a 36% chance that it will trigger Valley Rite, which will increase Normal Attack DMG by 70% of ATK.
This effect will be dispelled 0.05s after a Normal Attack deals DMG.
If a Normal Attack fails to trigger Valley Rite, the odds of it triggering the next time will increase by 20%.
This trigger can occur once every 0.2s.
Note: If your ping is above 100, it is not recommended to run this set specifically
