Genshin Impact: Freminet Quick Character Guide

Freminet is a flexible character that is capable of dealing both Cryo DMG and Physical DMG.

Freminet's Elemental Skill will generate a Pers Timer, which will indicate the current Pressure Level. While Pers Timer is active, Freminet's Normal Attacks will be infused with Cryo and the Pressure Level will increase. When unleashing his Elemental Skill again during this time, Freminet will perform different sorts of attacks based on the Pressure Level of the Pers Timer.

Freminet's Elemental Burst can reset the CD of his Elemental Skill. While his Elemental Burst is active, the CD of his Elemental Skill will be decreased.

This guide is based on the Community Character Builds by the Genshin Helper Team.


Skills Overview

Normal Attack: Flowing Eddies

Normal Attack
Performs up to 4 consecutive strikes.

Charged Attack
Drains Stamina over time to perform continuous spinning attacks against all nearby opponents.
At the end of the sequence, performs a more powerful slash.

Plunging Attack
Plunges from mid-air to strike the ground below, damaging opponents along the path and dealing AoE DMG upon impact.


Elemental Skill: Pressurized Floe

Performs an upward thrust that deals Cryo DMG and causes Freminet to enter Pers Timer for 10s.
While Pers Timer is active, his Elemental Skill will turn into Shattering Pressure.

Pers Timer
When Freminet uses Normal Attacks, he will also unleash waves of frost that deal Cryo DMG and increase Pers's Pressure Level.
The accompanying Cryo DMG dealt this way is considered Elemental Skill DMG.
Cooldown: 10 seconds

Shattering Pressure
Executes different sorts of attacks based on the Pressure Level of Pers Timer, and then cancels Pers Timer.

Level 0: Unleashes a vertical cut, dealing Cryo DMG.

Levels 1 to 3: Unleashes a vertical cut alongside Pers, dealing Cryo DMG and Physical DMG. DMG dealt scales based on Pressure Level.

Level 4: Borrows the power of a fully-pressurized Pers to deal Physical DMG. Meanwhile, Normal Attack: Flowing Eddies will be replaced by Shattering Pressure.

Arkhe: Pneuma
At certain intervals, after using the upward thrust, a Spiritbreath Thorn in the form of another upward thrust will be created, dealing Pneuma-aligned Cryo DMG.
Spiritbreath Thorn Interval: 9 seconds


Elemental Burst: Shadowhunter's Ambush

Unleashes a wave of untouchable cold, dealing AoE Cryo DMG, resetting the CD of the Elemental Skill "Pressurized Floe," and causing Freminet to enter the Subnautical Hunter mode for 10s.

While in Subnautical Hunter mode, Freminet's resistance to interruption will increase, and his Elemental Skill "Pressurized Floe" will obtain the following buffs:

  • CD is decreased by 70%.
  • Normal Attacks will increase the Pers Timer by 1 additional Pressure Level, and the frost released by his Normal Attacks deal 200% of their original DMG.

These effects will be canceled when Freminet leaves the field.

Ascension 1: Saturation Deep Dive

When Freminet unleashes Pressurized Floe: Shattering Pressure, if Pers Timer has yet to reach Pressure Level 4, the CD of Pressurized Floe will be decreased by 1s.


Ascension 4: Parallel Condensers

When Freminet triggers Shatter against opponents, the DMG dealt by Pressurized Floe: Shattering Pressure will be increased by 40% for 5s.


Passive Talent: Deepwater Navigation

Decreases Aquatic Stamina consumption for your own party members by 35%.
Not stackable with Passive Talents that provide the exact same effects.


TLDR / Rotation

Freminet have 2 possible roles: a Physical DPS or Cryo DPS. These 2 roles make use of his Elemental Skill in different ways.

If you're using him as a Physical DPS, what you need to focus on is making sure he reaches at least Level 2 Shattering Pressure (deals both Cryo and Physical DMG) by using Normal Attacks after his Skill.
His general rotation would be:
Burst > [Skill > 2 Normal Attacks > Skill > 1 Normal Attack] x2 times. By the times you finished the 2 [rotation], his Elemental Burst will run out soon.

If you're using him as a Cryo DPS, you need to spam his Skill as much as possible to dish out Level 1 Shattering Pressure (deals Cryo DMG only) during his Elemental Burst.
His general rotation would be:
Burst > [Skill > Skill > Normal Attack] x4 times. By the times you finished the 4 [rotation], his Burst will run out soon.

Best Constellations: C1, C4 & C6

C1: Dreams of the Foamy Deep (Great!) ⭐
The CRIT Rate of Pressurized Floe: Shattering Pressure will be increased by 15%.

C2: Penguins and the Land of Plenty
Unleashing Pressurized Floe: Shattering Pressure will restore 2 Energy to Freminet. If a Pressure Level 4 Shattering Pressure is unleashed, this will restore 3 Energy.

C3: Song of the Eddies and Bleached Sands
Increases the Level of Normal Attack: Flowing Eddies by 3.
Maximum upgrade level is 15.

C4: Dance of the Snowy Moon and Flute (Awesome!) ⭐
After Freminet triggers Frozen, Shatter, or Superconduct against opponents, his ATK will be increased by 9% for 6s. Max 2 stacks. This can be triggered once every 0.3s.

C5: Nights of Hearth and Happiness
Increases the Level of Pressurized Floe by 3.
Maximum upgrade level is 15.

C6: Moment of Waking and Resolve (Fantastic!) ⭐
After Freminet triggers Frozen, Shatter, or Superconduct against opponents, his CRIT DMG will be increased by 12% for 6s. Max 3 stacks. This can be triggered once every 0.3s.

Physical DPS Freminet stacks his Pers Timer to max using Normal Attacks and unleashes a powerful Physical Shattering Pressure. The rankings of recommended weapons and artifacts below assume he is in a team that can reliably trigger Shatter and Superconduct.

1) Skyward Pride (ATK: 674 • Energy Recharge: 36.8%)

[Refinement 1] Increases all DMG by 8%. After using an Elemental Burst, Normal or Charged Attack, on hit, creates a vacuum blade that does 80% of ATK as DMG to opponents along its path. Lasts for 20s or 8 vacuum blades.

If Freminet is C2 or has low Energy Recharge Requirements this weapon is less potent due to the ER stat being less useful.

2) Song of Broken Pines (ATK: 741 • Physical DMG Bonus: 20.7%)

[Refinement 1] Increases ATK by 16%, and when Normal or Charged Attacks hit opponents, the character gains a Sigil of Whispers. This effect can be triggered once every 0.3s.
When you possess four Sigils of Whispers, all of them will be consumed and all nearby party members will obtain the "Millennial Movement: Banner-Hymn" effect for 12s.
"Millennial Movement: Banner-Hymn" increases Normal ATK SPD by 12% and increases ATK by 20%. Once this effect is triggered, you will not gain Sigils of Whispers for 20s.
Of the many effects of the "Millennial Movement", buffs of the same type will not stack.

3) Beacon of the Reed Sea (ATK: 608 • Crit Rate: 33.1%)

[Refinement 1] After the character's Elemental Skill hits an opponent, their ATK will be increased by 20% for 8s. After the character takes DMG, their ATK will be increased by 20% for 8s. The 2 aforementioned effects can be triggered even when the character is not on the field. Additionally, when not protected by a shield, the character's Max HP will be increased by 32%.

4) Serpent Spine (ATK: 510 • Crit Rate: 27.6%)

[Refinement 5] Every 4s a character is on the field, they will deal 10% more DMG and take 2% more DMG. This effect has a maximum of 5 stacks and will not be reset if the character leaves the field, but will be reduced by 1 stack when the character takes DMG.

At [R5] this weapon can equal Skyward Pride.

5) Tidal Shadow (ATK: 510 • ATK: 41.3%)

[Refinement 5] After the wielder is healed, ATK will be increased by 48% for 8s. This can be triggered even when the character is not on the field.

The performance of this weapon depends on the healing abilities of your team.

4-Piece Bonus: When an Elemental Skill hits an opponent, ATK is increased by 9% for 7s. This effect stacks up to 2 times and can be triggered once every 0.3s. Once 2 stacks are reached, the 2-set effect is increased by 100%.

Pale Flame: Physical DMG Bonus +25%
Emblem of Severed Fate: Energy Recharge +20%

3) 4-Pc Golden Troupe

2-Piece Bonus: Increases Elemental Skill DMG by 20%.
4-Piece Bonus: Increases Elemental Skill DMG by 25%. Additionally, when not on the field, Elemental Skill DMG will be further increased by 25%. This effect will be cleared 2s after taking the field.

4) 4-Pc Gladiator's Finale

2-Piece Bonus: ATK +18%.
4-Piece Bonus: If the wielder of this artifact set uses a Sword, Claymore or Polearm, increases their Normal Attack DMG by 35%.

[Refinement 1] Increases Shield Strength by 20%. Scoring hits on opponents increases ATK by 4% for 8s. Max 5 stacks. Can only occur once every 0.3s. While protected by a shield, this ATK increase effect is increased by 100%.

3) Serpent Spine (ATK: 510 • Crit Rate: 27.6%)

Team Compositions

Complete Superconduct/Physical Team

If you're playing a Physical team, you can bring a Sub-DPS Electro character like Fischl to deal extra damage. The last slot is really flexible so you bring along anyone you want and completely built such as:
1. Shenhe
2. Beidou
3. Yelan
4. Mika
5. Bennett

Freeze + Shatter Team

As the name suggests, you need a combination of Hydro and Cryo to Freeze enemies so bring along at least one Hydro character. You can then bring along another Cryo character for the extra Energy who has a decent AoE DMG like Chongyun/Kaeya/Rosaria/Shenhe/Layla.
Lastly, an Anemo character gathers enemies and reduces Elemental RES. Since Freminet is a Claymore character, he can also trigger Shatter after Freezing enemies with this team. Replace someone with a healer if you're having trouble with survivability.
Other similar team: Freminet + Shenhe + Ayaka + Jean

Shatter + Hyperbloom Team

A Hydro character (Xingqiu/Yelan/Kokomi) is a must to Freeze and Shatter enemies while an Electro character is to trigger Superconduct and reduce enemies' Physical RES. In this team, you can proc Shatter and Superconduct for Freminet and get passive Hyperbloom with the help of the Dendro character in the last slot.
